🛡️ Enhanced Protection: Burley Design Travoy Wheel Guards for Safer Travels Review

The main advantage of Travoy for me is that I can move large objects with my bike. It can take the form of a large sack or pouch and, despite being secured with the included weight straps, tends to move around the shelf and catch on the wheels during transport.

Great product but since wheel rub damage to the bags is a type of design flaw I wish they were included in an already expensive trailer. Having to buy them as an option is a bit like buying a towbar as an option.

. They are good, easy to install (five minute lifespan with an Allen key) and do exactly what they are advertised for and not at all difficult to fold the trailer, it folds just as compactly as before They appear to be made from basically the same hard vinyl material as the trailer.

I would give it five stars but like other reviewers I don't want to reward a company for making us buy the necessary fix for Travoy's apparent design flaw. These guards eliminate the need for tricks to keep the spokes from chewing through bags made specifically for the Travoy. They work great, are easy to install and look well integrated.

The trailer should actually be included. The storage bag that comes with the trailer will bulge and chafe just like any regular duffel bag you tie to your trailer. This is a nice minimalistic way to get "wings" and keep things from rubbing against the tires. They're well made, each mating in three places, and feel solid for what they are. And they are 100% trailer foldable.

I have two Travoys and I know people are crazy about wear and tear issues. People improvised a solution, and eventually Burley addressed the problem. I was about to fake something, but given the cost and time involved I think this is the best solution. I didn't like how Burley handled this because they had to provide them as part of the original deal to fix an apparent flaw in their design. It would have been nice not to pay another $50 for two sets, but I had no choice. They could make them…
