These things are amazing!

I am simply blown away by the performance of these binoculars. Yesterday I used them for the third time in the San Diego Charger game. The field of view allows you to see a lot more action than my previous pair. On short to medium passes, you can watch the quarterback crunch as the ball reaches its target. I can imagine how great they will be at a concert, theater or other sporting event. These are not the type of binoculars you should use when you want to see a person or object up close, but…

Pros
  • Fully multi-coated optics for superior light transmission and brightness
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Ideal for bird watching

Anyone who watches birds in their backyard knows they can fly away in seconds, so auto focus is a must. I have two older models that are a bit lighter but still my favorite. I bought this new pair to take to our lake house this summer to see the bald eagles. I originally bought cheaper auto focus binoculars here at Revain but ended up returning them. They have eyecups that block all peripheral distractions, and that's what makes them stand out to me. Also, I have long eyelashes that get in the…

Bushnell Spectator Sport 4x 30mm Extra Wide FOV

I read the reviews on these binoculars and they piqued my interest so I decided to give it a try. I've had a lot of binoculars, from the cheapest to the Japanese-made Nikon, and I found most were missing something. But I honestly have to say these Bushnells are the most comfortable and enjoyable bang for the buck I've ever used. I was skeptical that they don't have a focus wheel, but that might be their biggest selling point - they really work - your eyes focus whether you wear glasses or not…

If you wear glasses, don't worry. Freedom of focus is not for you.

Only recommended if you have perfect vision or contact lenses. I had to return them and take regular binoculars with me. If your vision is corrected with glasses, you will need focusable binoculars to use without glasses (this is the best way to use binoculars to see the full area). ). With my imperfect vision, some distances were sharp and others weren't. The description says that the close focus ability depends on your own eyes. Well, I would say that the sharpness of focus - in all areas…

Great for viewing the CONSTELLATIONS from the city

Living under the light filled skies of Los Angeles I find them very useful when studying the constellations. I see all the stars that I would normally be able to see without any optics under a dark desert sky, although of course the constellations are spread by a factor of 4. But in contrast to ordinary binoculars, this magnification is enough for me to see the stars "in context". That means I can see enough sky in my field of view to easily pick and identify the constellations on my charts…

  • Cameras and binoculars
Cons
  • A few bits and pieces

Great for astronomy

I regularly present quarterly informational sessions for one of the largest astronomy clubs in the US. I usually focus on identifying constellations and some Messier objects like the Andromeda galaxy that are visible to the naked eye. I will also give a talk on opera glass astronomy, comparing lower magnification binoculars (2x to 5x) with high magnification binoculars of 7x and more. I have personally owned and tested a large number of binoculars, both modern and vintage, ranging from 2.3x to…

  • Field of view is almost three times larger than standard binoculars
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good value for opera visits

Everyone would understand these optical ratings better if the reviewers mentioned whether they wear glasses or contact lenses. The rating of optical devices depends on whether the reviewer is looking through a different set of lenses. If you wear glasses, please advise their strength in dioptres and whether there is correction for astigmatism or a cylindrical shape. Please indicate whether you wear bifocal or trifocal glasses and the strength of the reading areas. Overall I think these Bushnell
