A great way to refresh an old key ring with a more elegant and modern touch. I also had to shorten the key, go to an independent locksmith and avoid getting the dealer robbed. Mine cost me $40 each. Reprogramming is not necessary. Just install the original transmitter unit. Fits perfectly on my 2010 Pilot and transfer the Honda logo from the old key using a miniature precision screwdriver (avoid scratching, be careful). Enjoy the key now hidden until use.

I don't use an electric lock as my door lock motor has failed so it doesn't bother me enough to fix it. Although I miss opening the trunk. I was also able to cut it off at a locksmith and remove the innards from a spare key fob. The main problem with this is that it doesn't work seamlessly with 06-09 Honda Civics. Just completed a complete key change on a 2012 Honda Pilot. Surprised by the feel of the button, high-end feel, good weight, and flip works well. So far the first day and everything works as it should. This is a dummy key blank with an empty shell. You will need to replace a working keyless transmitter with a factory key and have a new key made by a locksmith/dealer. My dealer wanted $75 and the locksmith took $40.
