Works but requires a USB cable to power some/most devices.

Works, but only when USB is connected to an active power port. It is not mentioned in the product description and no USB cable is supplied, but without a USB connection it doesn't work for me. After that, it even works with a Mac laptop.

HDMI to VGA conversion and D/A conversion worked fine

I needed to send some MP4 HD digital video files from 2016 from my laptop which only has HDMI output and these files project with an old analog video projector with input VGA interface. This interface converter worked great!

HDMI to VGA conversion and D/A conversion worked fine

I needed to send some 2016 MP4 HD digital video files from my laptop, which only has an HDMI output, and project those files using an older analog video projector with a VGA input interface. This interface converter worked great!

Does not work with Mac laptops and does not come with power adapter

Does not work with Mac laptops. It will probably work with an external power supply, but it doesn't come with it and it doesn't even mention a power supply in the product description. I borrowed a 5V DC power adapter from another device and it started smoking and shutting down my Mac. It's probably not a compatible power supply, but it should come with one and/or have reverse polarity protection, or just use the USB connector if 5VDC is needed.
