🚗 Mazda Select Vehicles Air Filter - FRAM Extra Guard, CA9898 Review

Perfect (5 minutes) replacement for my 2010 Mazda3 I Touring (2.0). Now my car has 92,000 accident-free kilometers. I have changed my air filter several times with no problems. I get a consistent 28-30mpg with these and NGK Iridium spark plugs on a mixed ride depending on traffic and AC usage. (I live in Honolulu - there's usually heavy traffic and hot summers there).

Fits my 2010 Mazda3 perfectly. The store wanted $40 for a replacement, I did it myself for $10. Changing the filter took less than 2 minutes (no tools required and just a clip to remove). I noticed an immediate difference as acceleration was noticeably quicker/smoother. However, this is probably because my old filter was pretty dirty (and had a dead bird on top of that) so don't expect performance to be affected. It was cheaper here than at the dealership.

I installed this on my 2005 Mazda 3 with a 2.3 liter engine. This is a 5 minute job. My old filter was terribly dirty and someone had pieces of black foam clogging entire sections of the filter. I still don't know where the foam came from (from the road or some other invisible part of my car). This is one of those items that the dealer will charge you $45 to replace but will only cost you $11. Save the difference and use it for gas.

It's supposed to be compatible with my 2010 Mazda 3 but it didn't fit. The rubber was very round so it didn't fit in the coupe because it wasn't square enough. I am very happy with this air filter. The price is good and it's a lot easier to change them out once a year than hassle with cleaning a K&N filter. I couldn't find them at my local Walmart so I was glad Revane came to the rescue. I used to believe that you never need to change air filters as it only affects high performance as a car's throttle is normally closed under most driving conditions. If you think about it, when the filter is clogged, it's pretty obvious that the dirty air is bypassing
