I can't believe how difficult it is to tighten the cord. It takes forever and my fingers and hands hurt. It looks like it will work well enough if I ever get to hook it up to the cables. Not recommended.

I bought this product after reading all the reviews. I used this cable protector to protect my rabbit from chewing. It was very difficult to bypass the cables. At first it seemed to work. But if you look at my photos you will see that my rabbit chewed through this cord protector. If you want to use it on a rabbit, it won't work!

I used this product after my pup snapped the wires from two lights. It was a little tricky to start with covering the cord, but then it's quick. The length is quite long and I was able to cover (3) lamp cords. The material is discouraging in texture and sound, so my pup doesn't approach it. It's great for the price and I would definitely recommend it.

Impossible to open without killing fingers. Cut off a piece before I realized how hard it was to open, so can't go back. I can't believe there are so many positive reviews! The people who gave such great reviews found a way to open the tube without killing your hands. Tool? Trick? I am very disappointed and would not recommend this product to anyone.

So it really does what it's supposed to do, which is to stop pets from chewing. However, the installation, like inserting chords into the tube, is so cumbersome that I have tried "prying it open" with various kitchen utensils, inserting a cable, disconnecting by hand, etc. None of these worked well, and after about a full length of the tube my fingers were _raw_. Next time I would probably choose something else.

The cat chewed through the laptop cable. I bought this product to protect a replacement. The cat touched, sniffed and bit him. Since then he has ignored him. I used the remaining coating to protect the wires to some of the end lights, the power cord to the Blue Tooth speaker amp, and a few other wires. It's a bit complicated to use, but with practice, the technique becomes easier. Money well spent taming the 13-pound cat's impulsive behavior.

Installation may take some time as they are not very easy to disassemble afterwards. But I added a handle to hold it open and then ran the handle in front of the cord as I threaded it. That made a lot of things easier! In any case, I don't want it to be too easy, because then the cats will find a way in, I'm sure. It looks like it will do the job. My cats love to nibble strings, especially black strings for some reason. That should keep her away.

So. My new little kitty loves to chew strings. I used it and he lost interest. He tried chewing a few times but gave up after a few seconds. It doesn't interfere with my computer cables. Disconnecting the cable helped, but the protector is very stiff so it was difficult to keep the slot open to insert the cable. But because he was so tough, my cat lost interest in him. This cable protector is relatively easy to install. The housing is removable and you press it against the cable to be protected. I figured it would be best to press it near the connector (where you have a good grip and the cable is less flexible) and then press it down the length of the cable from there.
