Very disappointed with this one

The first time I used this pan I was frying potatoes. The potatoes stuck to the pan. Couldn't take it off so I boiled water in it to clean it but still didn't clean it well. Very disappointed with this product.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Calphalon Classic Roaster non-stick coating

Good sized pan. Not as hard as the more expensive ones I've had, but it was good value for money. Cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving with no problem. To prevent cleaning issues I always line the grill with strong aluminum foil and as always it works like a charm. I saw a reviewer get angry that he couldn't get the bottom off the potatoes. I had to use a foil insert. Anyway, I'm happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Quick instructions

Excellent skillet. Mysterious non-stick coating is amazing

Superb frying pan. The mysterious non-stick coating is amazing. I ate a 13 pound turkey like a Cornish chicken. You can make a real fried beast out of this thing. The shelf is washed like a dream in the dishwasher. I made the sauce right in the pot on a cool stove, it turned out great. There is a little discoloration after a proper roast but this is the right tool, I like that it builds character over time. Grandma would be happy about this pan. Do that

  • Great selection

Very dissatisfied with the best skillets

I should have listened to the reviews but I didn't want to believe that Calphalon would be presenting a poor quality product. We have a complete set of Calphalon and the weight and quality of this roaster is light and cheap in comparison. The exterior color is also not like the rest of the set. They say it's a non-stick coating, but after I've cleaned it to the point where I thought the coating would come off, there's still residue in the pan. I doubt it's real, although Calfalon sells it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Lightweight but strong, includes a turkey stand

My old frying pan was coated with teflon and the coating was starting to come off which I don't want in gravy. I bought one for my daughter from Costco a few years ago and it was really good. Was looking for one this year and they didn't have one (or not that good). I looked at several sites and some had crazy prices for a roster that didn't seem any better than this one. It's lighter than my old brazier, which surprised me because the metal walls aren't thin. It's not Teflon. coated :-D and…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Can't remember

Very disappointed - returned

I bought this one the day after buying another because this was on sale and I really liked Calfalon and thought I couldn't be wrong. I didn't even intend to open a second one. I got this and was very concerned about the rack. It's a lot smaller than a frying pan. I have a big problem with this because when I take a steaming turkey out of the oven I don't need a stand that can slide and shift and spill the contents on me. I pulled out another and the grate was tight against the pan. I decided to

Not the same quality as my old Calphalon pan

We were planning to cook two large ribs for a big family vacation so we bought another large Calphalon pan. From the moment we arrived we saw a difference in quality between our 5 year old Calphalon pan and this new one. The new pan featured thinner aluminum construction and the pan handles were thinner. The anodized finish also looked different. After lunch we started cleaning and our initial fears were confirmed. The original 5-year-old pan could be cleaned as usual without much effort…
