I use this machine daily. Very good coffee maker. However, as you can see in the attached image, a crack has developed in the ring around the heating platform. Coffee will be good, but design flaws cause irritation. After brewing, a large amount of condensate forms under the lid. Every time you go for coffee, it drips onto the stove and fizzes. Water drips into the tank throughout the cycle, which is why you hear the noise. When you open the lid to drain the coffee, the water falls back into the tank and tries to brew again. I liked the coffee maker for three months - beautiful, brews excellent coffee, I was very happy with the purchase. Then the glass carafe shattered in the sink. Dealing with Calphalon support was a nightmare. You can't reach them on their phone number because you're on standby for hours and you hear a recorded message inviting you to visit their website. If you do this, you'll get a plethora of surveys and then a plethora of emails. I gave them all this information many times just to get silence

I love this coffee pot. I don't buy the most expensive coffee or grind the beans myself, and the coffee still tastes the best of any coffee maker I've had in years. The 4 hour hotplate plus adjustable platen temperature is fantastic. I use 4 hours on medium and it never burns my coffee. I can't use a permanent filter, I'm allergic to metal, but paper works really well with this pot. The only problem I had was getting the right amount of soil for the pot.
