Inexpensive but works

Used on a 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7. It worked well, but I agree with some of the other posts that it's not built very well. Other than that it worked fine and if I only used it once everything would be fine.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Available in black only

This doesn't work on a 3.6 liter Dodge but works great on a Ford. From top dead center I was able to raise the cams a bit individually and overcome the chain tension, just enough for the R&R -Lifters and rocker arms. 3.6L 2017 Truck Notes.

Not for professional use, suitable for DIY

Well worth the money I've used it on 3.7 and 4.7 but it actually bent when used on 4.7 . The part that sticks to the cam is the part that was bent so I put it in a vise and heated it up and bent it back so I could finish the job but again for the money it got the job done.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Very cool and useful gadget.

A bit more expensive but definitely worth it when you realize you can pull out the rocker arms and adjust timing without worrying about bending the valves or damaging them having to do the piston. There are other ways to do this, but this tool makes it easy to install and install tappets and rocker arms in Chrysler 3.7 and 4.7 OHC engines.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Follow the instructions to unclog pistons.

My Jeep 4.7L HO lost the valve seat and I decided to disassemble it myself. It works great when the pistons are in the right position. Reviewers with broken parts likely hit the pistons. Even with the rear cylinder extension, it only requires a few pounds of pressure per key. The left bank should have cylinder 1 at top dead center of the compression stroke to remove the valves of cylinders #2 and #8, then cylinder 3 at top dead center of the compression stroke for valves #4 and #6.
