I was in a dilemma getting hold of 4 ounce jelly jars when my local store didn't stock 4 ounce canned jars. They were a bit more expensive, but I've used one-piece lids before, so I was comfortable ordering them. Came in very secure packaging. The cans and lids are of very good quality. They easily filled and processed 80 jars of blackberry jam for my son's wedding next month!

I bought these jars because they were advertised as 'high quality' and 'food safe' with airtight clean fitting lids. I put it in the dishwasher before first use and many cracked. When adding cream and cooling during handling, many others cracked, leaked lids and/or cracked or broke in half in the hands of 8-9 year olds. Completely unacceptable and dissatisfied. They are NOT food, dishwasher or refrigerator safe!

I like wide mouth spice jars and I used to use 4 ounce jars but I needed tight lids and smooth sides. It worked. I especially like that they stack much better than regular metal-topped cans. All my glasses arrived intact with no broken glass. There is a small film on it, probably from the packaging, but it is deleted immediately. My only complaint is that the lids don't close completely - the powders and herbs don't shake, but I don't think I would trust them upside down and filled with liquid.

I have ordered two batches - I use them for spice boxes. They fit perfectly in my kitchen drawer. The first batch was perfect. I liked them and ordered a second batch. The second batch disappointed me. A dozen jars had their lids screwed on unevenly. They were quite difficult to open and I could hear the shards of glass scraping together. One can was broken and the other three were cracked. I had to wash them gently with soap. Who knows, but I doubt I'll need more than 76 spice jars. Seller…
