The best thing I've ever used, I recommend it to everyone!

Since I often shoot baptisms and weddings in churches, the soundlessness of the camera helps a lot. Autofocus is also a big plus, since I shoot in dynamics, it made my work easier, I already forgot about focusing and framing. I liked the exposure simulation function, you can immediately see what kind of picture you get. Tried with different lenses such as: Canon 28mm f1.8, Canon 85 f1.8, Canon 24-70mm f4 L is usm, Canon 135mm f2 L usm, Sigma 35mm f1.4 art and many others. They all work great…

Pros
  • The light sensitivity of new lenses on RF, focusing in the entire range of the frame, the viewfinder is just what you need, what you see is what comes out, customization
Cons
  • I'm not picky, what I expected is what I got

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

The main disadvantage of the camera is that they are trying to sell you not only the camera, but also at least a couple of new lenses. And this problem is solved by marketing, due to the promise of "absolutely different image quality." In fact, the new rf50mm 1.2 lens, in addition to the sharpness of the object itself in focus, is completely inferior to the EF50 mm 1.2 and EF50mm 1.4 lenses in terms of the beauty of the picture, its plasticity and blur quality. Even on the forum created to…

Pros
  • The camera is made according to all the laws of a modern gadget. It's nice to hold it in your hands. But, no more. The price is lower than conditional competitors.
Cons
  • 1. Lower dynamic range than major competitors. 2. No matrix stabilization. 3. Image detailing is lower due to the smoothing filter, and therefore, the thesis that "no one takes landscapes on canon" is still relevant. 4. The closed system for installing manual lenses. There are adapters, but as usual, everything is buggy. 5. One card slot, and this immediately sweeps aside any possibility of using the camera for serious work, even as a spare. 6. Marketing games with lenses. More on this in the comment.

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

This is the first Canon camera that gave me mixed feelings and made me doubt the adequacy of gun marketers. I pre-ordered the Canon EOS R as soon as the opportunity arose, which means I was one of the first to receive the camera. I am professionally engaged in photography and the camera for me is a tool. I use 5DS R, Mark III, Phase One XF IQ3 80 in the studio. I needed a camera that I could take on trips and carry to events for fun. For me, it's the perfect second camera. So, in order: 1) The

Pros
  • Good ergonomics, swivel touch screen, normal digital viewfinder, excellent focusing system, excellent compatibility with EF lenses, color reproduction. Good shooting mode in CR3 (compressed RAW). Protection of the sensor from the external environment when the lens is removed (curtains). Gorgeous ultra quality lenses (at the same ultra price).
Cons
  • Dynamic range, noise at ISO over 6400, requires customization (reassignment and general assignment) of control buttons. Thick adapter for EF. No matrix stabilization. I don’t even need it, but Canon’s marketers were infuriated, saying that lens stabilization is enough. Are you seriously? There are almost no fast lenses with a stub from Canon, except for 35mm, 85mm and 200mm - the rest are at least 2,8 Karl! And a week after this announcement, Canon registers a patent for matrix stabilization. The price is at least $150 too high.

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

Like many, I took it to try, so for a change, as before I took different dormouse, I did not expect much. The first impression is futuristically compact, but comfortable. Then I began to understand - it quickly became obvious that the positioning in terms of ergonomics was lower than that of 5d4, butooo I started working and flooded the pluses one by one. The very first shoot at the show - backstage and catwalk, I went nuts . at 85 1/4 on the most open hole in the dark, fast walking model 99%…

Pros
  • Focusing is something, especially on firmware 1.4 - it immediately sees a face, and almost always finds an eye, if it’s tall, it’s always half-height and a portrait - it’s a feeling that the future has come, you don’t have to pull the camera all the time - focusing - framing - focusing and so without end, just framing and that's it. This is a bomb. Everything else without enthusiasm but very good - Matrix from 5d4 - good, New rav cs3 - got better. An electronic video finder is convenient, by the way, it shows a picture better than on the main screen. Swivel screen - of course convenient and necessary. Lighter in weight - of course + Assistance with focusing infrared assistant - needed. Silent shooting - top when shooting in theaters and churches. No more adjustments are needed - hallelujah, for so many years I have been so tormented with these, but here you can simply forget about it. Adapters with various useful gadgets - of course ++ (but a little expensive) You can charge from a power bank - well, not big + but still They say the jeep has become better - never tried it. The theme itself with no specularity, well, with an adapter, the same lenses at the same speed.
Cons
  • Of course, there is also here, but with all the shortcomings, EOS R is a discovery for me - but nevertheless I will list it. Ergonomics - a level lower than 5D4, the joystick was clamped, the touch panel is rubbish, you constantly have to switch the viewfinder, then to simulate the exposure - it's convenient when working without a flash and when you work in a studio, in live view, and when a flash is put on with an imitation, something is not then. one card - damn pancake In short, I'm waiting for a mirror five.

Everything is fine, I liked the product, I bought it for a reason.

I am writing a review already in comparison with RP and R6. Once upon a time, the camera, of course, was very interesting, a kind of analogue of 5d4 in mirrorless with a new autofocus on the eyes - everything is very cool. But I took the camera after 1 year of using RP, and there is not much difference in the result and work. But there are large dimensions, weight, price. This can be justified only if you really need (for example, for landscapes) 30MP and more DD at ISO 100, since cameras don’t

Pros
  • good color Top cover - painted metal, looks and feels expensive Very good screen Not a bad matrix Comfortable grip Autofocus for eyes
Cons
  • Lack of controls No stub Price, weight and size in comparison Crop in 4k One card slot

Not everything is so bad, the average purchase in quality.

General impressions are mixed, I expected a miracle from canon - a miracle did not happen, not only does kenon traditionally release cameras with fewer chips than competitors, but also what is of dubious quality. Maybe some of the bugs are solved by ating the firmware, but I didn’t have the opportunity to check it. I rented a camera for the day. The desire to climb from canon 5d mark 3 to r-ku disappeared sharply after the test (((.

Pros
  • After 5d mark 3 quickly figured out the controls. Plus, you can remap the buttons for yourself. Old EF lenses fit through an adapter. Focus points all over the field. There is focusing on the face, you can also refocus by clicking on the screen. The presence of a rotary screen makes it easier to shoot from non-standard angles. The screen itself is of good quality. High working ISO. According to ISO, the situation is ambiguous, I described it in more detail in the minuses. I was very pleased with the closing of the matrix with the camera turned off and changing the lens.
Cons
  • I didn’t like, oddly enough, the focus. There are misses in tracking focus on moving objects. I got a few static ones with a lack of lighting. When the object is rotated, it does not immediately find the face. Perhaps the issue is solved with a new firmware, I don’t know - I rented it, so which version was - I shot it with that one. When pulling out of a slightly underexposed part of the picture, an unpleasant noise popped up. ISO was unpleasantly surprised. At ISO 800-1600 it makes the same noise, and somewhere worse than my old 5 d mark3. But the truth, I must note that with a further increase in iso, the situation in r-ki is much better. Those. ISO 4000 is still working, did not check further. Stabilization works constantly on a lens with a stub, even if you don’t aim and don’t shoot anything. Thus, the battery is consumed. You have to turn off the stub or the camera itself. When shooting on a non-native tamron, it draws a circle in jpg for the entire frame). Of course, it is not in the ravine, but the sediment remains unpleasant.

It's the best purchase I ever made, I will definitely do it again.

I bought an original Canon EF-RF adapter with a switching ring especially for the camera! Cool stuff! Unlike a regular adapter for Canon EF or EF-S lenses, some functions can be reassigned to the ring of this adapter in the camera settings! I assigned aperture control, which gave me a feeling that you are shooting at Zenith :-) when you control the "hole" on the lens. Nice retrograde feeling. Later, I may add a review, but in general, everything is super! It is silly to advise something to…

Pros
  • Smart touch screen, 31MP, LP-E6 battery (in the best traditions :-) The entire fleet of lenses is installed on this device through an adapter, it seems, as they say, that lenses with an EF-S mount will also fit, but I don’t have such, I can’t check .
Cons
  • There is a proximity sensor and automatic switching between the screen and the eyepiece. This constant switching to the eyepiece gets annoying when you bring the device close to you or pass it by with your hand, for example, to poke at the screen :-) But (!) You can leave either the eyepiece or the screen on, there is such a function. The touchpad under the thumb of the right hand also pissed off when I assigned ISO to it. Because I shoot in the manual, then periodically changed the parameter out of habit. Not critical, but still . I changed the setting to check the focus and it became absolutely super! 4K with crop! Like, 1.75 . It's a shame :-( And at first it was frightening that even when the device was turned off, the active mode indicator was on on the upper display, but this is the norm Lots of small nuances, but they just need to get used to! Especially when you switch from a DSLR and then in your hands this unit with a Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8L II lens looks somehow ridiculous EF lenses are noisy! I didn’t notice buzzing on DSLRs, but here they became noisier

A good product, more pros than cons.

I bought it as a second camera for leisurely photo shoots, for 85II and 135. And Canon advertises it that way. Before buying, I read all the reviews about R and the technical branches r6 and r5, with reviews from former owners. I don’t feel delighted with the purchase, the camera is good with amateur control. It is necessary to understand, stupidly remember to automatism and shoot. I am satisfied with the purchase. I agree with the opinion that photography depends on the photographer, less on…

Pros
  • Specifications. Price. In early November, with a Chinese adapter, I took R-ku for 109.5 acceptable. Yesterday they were already sold for 119.5. Autofocus is better than on the second penny. But the topic of autofocus is classified by the company. They will never say that each new system is better than the previous one by 5-10 percent (perhaps even less) - sales will fall. In the technical branch of the R5, not everyone praises the new autofocus. Canon can please us with their improvements for a long time .. It is possible to focus on a point selected on the screen. Before buying, they strained the revelations of the owners, who wrote that they had forgotten and did not remember how to focus on the central point ... Interchangeable batteries with nickels. When turned off, the camera retracts the proboscis of the lens (85ii). Nicely.
Cons
  • The ill-fated one hundred grams of weight (some people put it as a plus), removing convenient control dials, buttons for frequently used functions and an informative display (the second part is visible only after pressing the button) like on nickels. Focus on the eyes is good if at least one eye is looking into the lens! And if the model is drawing, reading, or turning her head, then the focus can be anywhere. It is necessary to press the screen with your finger (where the head of the model is). The focus will try to focus in this area, you need to crop it slowly, press the shutter button and the focus flies wherever it wants again ... It's better to switch to the point (I have eight presses of two buttons programmed). We could do it with one button in one click, but at the amateur level, the owner must always feel the inferiority of the camera. Video. Why does a photographer need a video? For me - "money down the drain." It is possible to program some buttons for other functions. It seems good, but it does not add much to the speed of control.

Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

I will say right away that I did not buy it. They bought it for me at the theater, where I was actually shooting performances. I will not voice the theater, we are not here for this. I asked to buy EOS R. I heard that it does well in the dark in dynamics. I can say that the ISO settings up to 3200 are quite good, there is really no noise. Autofocus works out in a dark room and I don’t have to sit manually to catch (well, at least 90 percent catches). Plus, the kit included an RF lens, 24-105…

Pros
  • Autofocus in the dark, ISO settings in dimly lit areas, RF optics
Cons
  • If you dig around, I think you can find it, but I only take pictures in the framework of one work for her

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

I took the erka as the first mirrorless after I had a little sleepy sleep. It's been three months since the purchase but I'll start with first impressions. Everyone who talks about the inconvenience of the location of the buttons and the inability to properly adjust the shooting parameters, what century do you live in? I had canon and mb before that, so it took me 20 minutes to make all the settings, on the first day. It's very cool that you can assign any function to any button or…

Pros
  • autofocus Matrix Build quality Ease of use (no matter what)
Cons
  • Price, but in 2021 in general this is rather the norm If you want to take a camera for video, then at the wrong address

Improved my ability to photograph only

I sold one of my boats to buy this camera. I spent 5 months reading every review I could find and visiting camera shops in every state I visited. I tested every model and brand and got the opinion of different owners. In the end I decided I liked the features of the Canon range. I waited for the 7D to hit the shelves and tried it out. I loved the extra features, but more than I needed at the moment with my DSLR experience. I decided to spend the money I saved on good glass. When the 50D…

Very happy with the IQ of my 50D :)

There are already many detailed reviews of the 50D. With that in mind, I'll be brief. My Experience: I'm a hobbyist with a lot of experience with DSLRs. I started taking photography classes in high school when there were only film SLRs! Photojournalism was also my major for a year in college. And then it was my hobby from time to time. I have a Canon SD 700 IS, but this 50D was my first DSLR. Maybe it's because I work a lot and don't go out during the day, but most of my 50D photos so far have…

Better than I thought

This has been my first Canon DSLR in a very long time and I wasn't sure about switching from Nikon but decided to check it out. In general this is a good camera. The noise level is indeed greater than Nikon's, my old D90 took some nice shots at high ISO where the 50D struggles. I wouldn't go above ISO 800 or so with this camera. Thing is I never do that so it's ok for me but might be a problem for some. The key layout I would say needs some work. I would give Nikon a big advantage here as all…
