Doesn't work, not sure.

Date is 7/2019 so I'm not sure if it's expired but you can test tap water or aquarium water and you'll get the same results. Even if it shows the right colors for comparison, it doesn't tell you what the level should be. I tried to go the cheap route with this and it wasn't smart. Coming back, don't trust this object of your fish life.

Easy to read, cheap and lots of stripes!

There were no reviews and the price was quite cheap compared to others, so I was hesitant to purchase this product. I'm glad I did! You have 50 stripes! And they're pretty easy to read, I've had no problem spotting colors so far! I'm so glad I bought this and I found my water a bit hard but no 'big' issues so thanks for this product!

Inaccurately good for fish and aquatic animals

I have tested all 9 of my aquariums. They all showed the same thing with 0 nitrates or nitrites which would be amazing if that were true! Instead, it's dangerous because it's not true! Tested again with the Tetra strips and they showed precisely different readings for each of my tanks, showing some had higher nitrate levels. I want to know the true readings of my reservoirs so I know if I have a problem. The fact that all water values are ideal does not have to be a lie. It may be a faulty…

I don't seem to have read anything

I thought this would be an easy way to test the water in my tank as I am new to the hobby. I didn't want to go out for a full set of APIs! The instruction manual was pretty basic, so I'll rate it for that. It just wasn't read. They barely changed when I tested water with them and they overlapped like crazy making reading even more difficult! That was not the case on the new tank that I drive now. These strips didn't catch anything. I do not recommend.

Unreliable or easy to read. buy drops.

We bought them for the same reason everyone else did: convenience. Well that was a mistake and we have dead fish to prove it. We just got home from Petsmart with API test kits that use solutions that are added to test tubes and found that at least a few things had toxic levels, but we were completely unaware beforehand because these test strips don't work. . The pH was not out of range at all and nitrite was so difficult to read on these strips that we thought it was fine, but the drops clearly

Don't waste your money on these test strips.

Gauges showed wrong readings, inaccurate on many attempts! I used saltwater from the Waikiki Aquarium which met the standard in all categories such as pH and the test strips showed they were all NOT up to standard and outside of specification. Saltwater pumped from the depths of the ocean has gone through many filtration systems, how can it not meet the standard? I'm pretty sure every public aquarium's saltwater was up to standard and the test strips showed it had fallen off. It's hard to…

No, it definitely doesn't work.

I bought these test strips because they looked like a bargain but unfortunately they are useless. I have tested my reverse osmosis water and it was the only test that I can say is accurate, zero in all respects. Then I checked the tap water, the planted aquarium and the seawater aquarium. The planted tank had 20ppm nitrite on titration and the bar read zero. My saltwater aquarium was 5ppm when titrated and zero when using a strip. Out of frustration I made a strong solution of sodium nitrite…
