Carburetor Tecumseh 640086A TH098SA Powerlite Review

Almost a replica of an old greased/stuck OEM. The only small problem is the throttle body. It's shorter than OEM if you have a Craftsman machine. So I extended it with a piece of plastic tubing. The car started straight away and ran like a champ as everything else was perfect. For the price, it's a lot easier to just put one on than fiddling around with an old glued-on carburetor and trying to find small parts for it.

I really neglected my original carburettor with the E90 without draining etc until it was just too clogged to do the job. Hours of cleaning, soaking and disassembling didn't improve the situation. For less than fifteen dollars, my snow blower fired the second time after installation. All of this wasted time could have been saved if I had known about $15 Chinese Carbs before I started!

I installed the first carburetor I received. The snowblower didn't start, but ran briefly and squirted some gasoline into the chamber. I went inside and came back to find gas escaping from a small vent pipe next to the primary supply. Contacted customer service, they advised me to send it back and sent me another carb which allowed the fan to start the first time. Considering I lost a full tank, the time it took to install the X2, and the frustration that the machine didn't work when I needed…

The carburetor was delivered immediately after my order. He approached and the device started, but the fuel flowed from the intake to the carburetor and did not stop flowing even after the engine stalled. I called the seller who promptly sent a replacement and advised me to leave the bad carburetor with a bad float. When I opened up the second carburetor, I found that the float bowl seal protruded from the seating area about 3/4 inch of the rim. I sent a picture of the problem to the dealer…
