A great idea. The technology is not ready yet.

Came across this device on the Apple forum. It sounded interesting. The reviews were everywhere. I have a wired CarPlay car radio. When I found out that Amazon sells them, I decided to take a risk and buy a carlinkit CarPlay dongle. The packaging was top notch. Almost like Apple. Very clean. There is nothing to say about the device. It has a USB port. I connected it to my Pioneer nex1500. The device has a wired Carplay. My iPhone detected a BT connection. I connected and everything. I dared and was happy.

After seeing some mixed reviews here and on Facebook I was a bit skeptical how it would work. However, I figured worst case scenario I'd go back to Revain and get a refund if I'm not satisfied. I've had it for about 3 weeks now, use it every day and am very happy with it. The one-time setup was easy and triggered an automatic firmware update for the Carlinkit device. Now when I start my F-150 it shows a new home screen for a few seconds while the Carlinkit device finds my iPhone, then CarPlay…

Works well but has annoying bugs, no tech support

I use this with the JVC/Kenwood head unit model KW-V940 BW and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The head unit has wired CarPlay which works well and I Wanted to add wireless CarPlay as most of my trips in this car are short and I don't like fiddling with cables every time I get in and out of the car.
