Carlson Maxi Extra Tall Pet Gate: Expands from 51-58 Inches Wide for Ultimate Safety and Convenience Review

This gate is easy to install and complements our square doors. It was easy to assemble and strong. I love small animals for. But I wish the gate was 6 inches taller. A heavier person at the same time hardly goes through the door.

It's definitely big enough for my husky to get older but it went through the cat door with no problems. This cat door could easily accommodate a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat, but I figured it should be a small door? I assume if your dog weighs less than 30 pounds this is also a dog door but over 30 pounds and a dog probably won't fit.

I bought this to keep my 55 lb husky from chasing cats when I'm sleeping or away from home. I have to keep five small dogs in the kitchen/living room. The entrance from the kitchen to the hallway is quite wide at 38 inches - wider than most dog guard solutions. I found this gate on Revain - it seemed wide enough to me so I gave it a try. Measure very carefully and you really need to screw the mounting clips to the wall studs - I don't think using drywall anchors is a viable solution. I figured I could order as many extensions as I wanted to make the gate longer.
