Not a great experience for me.

I bought this bike computer because so many others have had such good experiences installing and using it. But unfortunately it wasn't my experience. Pro: The display is easy to read while driving. Miles was mostly correct. Cons: Computer setup is not intuitive. I'm not a newbie to setup, but the instructions (which were in the pictures) were completely incomprehensible to me. Words could change everything. After about 15 minutes I resorted to a YouTube video. If you make a mistake in the…

Primitive electronics lose ALL programming with every battery change.

Primitive electronics lose ALL programming with every battery change. In fact, I switched from the wireless to the wired version. You may find that many bike lights cause electromagnetic interference with wireless bike computers. This wired computer REALLY solved that problem. Shockingly, this 2019 device has no non-volatile memory. It only takes 32-64 bytes to store your data. Each time you change the battery, you must re-enter the tire size information. Your total mileage (odometer) will be…

It's simple: bike computer

Installation was very easy. I first watched a YouTube video about wired sensors, but it's really easy. You take a small magnet and unscrew it to attach it to the front spokes so that the magnet is as close to the center of the wheel stud as possible, the magnet is facing you when you are sitting on the right front wheel. Then you take a wired sensor and attach it to the part of the bike that holds the wheel. There is a sticky double-sided adhesive strip that can be used to secure it in place…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Doesn't go with everything

Velo 7 - BEST

I have three 1993 Cat Eye Velo 2 models that still work like new, so I have a lot of faith in wired Cat Eye bikes. They do not contain redundant information that it is absolutely impossible to have an accuracy value for every model regardless of the cost. You give the information I want and no more. Fewer features mean easier setup and re-setup when the battery dies. I'm sticking with the simplest wired model for a couple of reasons. First of all, only one battery has to be replaced, which…

COMPUTER GEM

This is my first experience with bike computers. I started skating again after my two children were old enough to live on their own. I ride mostly in the city and do about ten miles round trip, but I've also started doing longer trips into the country. And after a while, after all this time I've been pedaling, you start thinking about some things like, 'How fast am I actually going, how many miles am I going to get on these trips, and how long is it?' the? take all? "I know what you're…
