🐱 Cat Mate Inc 210 Glass and Screen Door Review

All of the cat doors I found were too thick to fit in my actual garage door as it is metal. So I bought this glass because I knew glass is thin too and I cut a circle in the metal. Works perfectly! If only my cat would actually use it. Oh, and the door stays shut when I pick it up so I don't have to worry about it falling out and hitting my antenna or anything. The magnet is strong enough to keep the door closed in the horizontal position, but not so strong that the cat can't get out.

This pet door has been tested by 4 cats and has lasted over 10 years! I only bought one more because I found it hard to find and wanted a replacement. We installed it in the window from the common room to the porch and it saves us a lot of time getting up and letting the cats in or out. We replaced the glass with plexiglass which can then be cut to make the required hole. Much less obtrusive and better looking than sliding glass door pet doors!

I was wondering if the grille in the window would be strong enough to support this cat flap, especially when I took it out of the box - it feels solid and heavy. I followed the advice of other reviewers and made sure the opening was large enough for the hinged door to open, which gave it a lot more support under the frame. Bought the first one last fall to install window grilles in the basement for our wild street cats.
