Purity? Indeed? Poor customer support

Unable to contact customer service. The product has good potential but cannot solve the customer support problem. Probably bought from another company

Works straight out of the box

I've barely seen the rings of Saturn at 20mm, I had to use 10mm, it seems 2.5x stronger - still a beginner lol. My old computerized Celestron 102 had a Barlow add-on so you could actually see Saturn's rings clearly. More expensive and more difficult to set up, it's easy and you only use the Red Dot Finder Scope anyway. Don't forget to turn it off. The iPhone app works well EXCEPT for having to line up the damn thing in the dark when moving the telescope for example when you're camping and can't

Amazing new technology!

First impression. WOW. I received the StarSense Explore DX 102AZ, simply assembled it and had two clear nights to use it. It's lightweight, easy to move, but still pretty strong after installation. The app works surprisingly well, and after a few taps on the screen, the crosshairs knew where it was and I was guided to objects. The app is intuitive and very responsive. The sight through the scope was clear and the stars were dots. The app will even talk to you and give you information about the…

This starsense app makes this sight very funny.

I am a beginner and have two other scopes, this is my favorite scope because of this StarSense app. Navigating from star to star, from planet to planet is easy and fun. You buy the StarSense app. Full moons make this app useless, and maybe partly cloudy nights depend on how many stars it can find. This dx 102 refractor isn't heavy, which is a plus, but beginner scopes are cheaply made. I say that because the wing nut came loose from the tripod leg in the first week, so I fixed it myself. I've…

StarSense Explorer DX adds a new level of technology

I've just received the new StarSense Explorer 4" refractor telescope with new technology and I have to say I'm very impressed. Conventional Computerized telescopes are a little expensive and often difficult to master. In this case, you don't pay for the technology because it's already built into your smartphone. This allows you to observe many planets and deep sky objects quickly and easily. The Starsense app comes with simply docks with your phone's camera and shows you how to fine-tune with…

Pros
  • Sleek design

Starting and living with a toddler?

Then this is definitely the telescope you should take a look at. At the moment I'm mainly reviewing the setup and save features since I just got it and I'm still learning all of its features. First off, installation was easy. So far I love the tripod. It folds and installs easily and is stabilized by an easily removable tray. (If you normally use your patio or balcony for stargazing, this shouldn't pose a stability problem if it's firmly attached.) A real telescope has a pretty clever way of…
