Sharpening angles are all wrong

The wheels in the 15 and 20 degree sharpening slots sharpen the knife at completely different angles on either side. I read all the instructions, I applied them correctly. I'm very glad I started with an unnecessary knife. He was corrupted. The final stage grinding wheels are plastic, so running the tip of the blade past them will damage them instantly. After a print. Destroyed.

My knives are SHARP again!

This was just what me and my dull knives needed. About 30 years ago I got a beautiful Henkel knife set for my wedding. Over the years I have regularly taken them out to have a professional sharpen them when they have become dull. I finally decided to buy a sharpener for the house and I have to say I really like it! So handy and now I can keep my knives in perfect shape at home. Me - and my knives - THANK YOU!

Cons
  • Generally good, but...

My knives are deadly and like new. I haven't sharpened my Henckel blades in almost 11 years and they are now better than new. Read the instructions carefully and practice before proceeding. You will not be disappointed. One as a gift. It's nice to be cooking with my knives again. Remove the tomato and taste the slice before sharpening. Then try cutting the blade again after sharpening to feel how the blade changes. I absolutely love this product.

The right tool for the home user

I sharpened knives for work. There are better knife sharpeners out there, but they cost many hundreds of dollars and require training and skill to operate. There are also many consumer knife sharpeners that stink. Many of these are worse for your knives than doing nothing. In my opinion, choosing a chef is the right balance for the home cook who doesn't want to make their knives a hobby, but wants sharp knives. This is simple enough and does a great job with due care on the part of the user. I…

The quickest way to ruin an expensive knife

I would only recommend this sharpener for cheap knives that just need a quick sharpening without worrying about scratches on the sides of the blade and small nicks along and above the blade to have to do. blade edges. I have used this to sharpen my expensive Shun Damascus chef's knife and not only does it scratch/graze the sides of my blade which have a sort of mirror finish, it also leaves little chips on the blade regardless of my technique! Additionally (and you can see other reviewers…

WOW easy to use and sharp knives

Received yesterday, set up and used today. I thought I'd just get to know him on the old blunt knives from the "Stuff" box. They only used the "European/American" tier (2) and tier (3). WOW they got so sharp after 2-6 hits depending on how blunt they were. I took out all our knives, washed them, sharpened them and washed them again. They are like new. From unpacking, reading the instructions to assembling in just one hour. We have 2 knife blocks. We'll be using it on our family's knives just to

Difficult to use and only for thinner knives

Although I love the idea of sharpening knives to 17 or 20 degrees, this sharpener is difficult to use. I would give it up because I need more practice, but the second issue is that this sharpener is only for thinner knives. I've tried using it to sharpen a Kabar Marine knife but it doesn't work at all. I will use it for kitchen knives and sharpen them to 17 degrees Japanese style. On a positive note I find the quality of the device to be quite good and cutting off the plastic parts of the…

This sharpener makes a very sharp blade quickly and evenly.

After reading some reviews from America's Test Kitchen etc I bought one for my home. Since then I have made several gifts for friends who love to cook. This is a very effective sharpening solution, except for the rods; the results are very good, fast and reproducible. This sharpener has replaced all of our clay sticks and a previously purchased sharpener from a (renowned Germanic) maker of our kitchen knives. There are three slots; one sharpens at an angle of European/American kitchen cutlery…
