Great stove for camping, power outages, whatever!

Taken with me on a trip down the 11 Point River in the Mark Twain National Forest. Works great to boil water for coffee, boil 30 ounces in minutes, this works just as well as boiling. Very light and I love the folding handles to hold large or small pots. Buy one and keep it in your closet when the power goes out! Or go hiking! Don't be without!

Good. Great after repair.

Large burner Boil control Compatible with standard thread canisters Light weight for the burner size My first complaint When I received the burner I noticed that the top support arms were not quite straight. When trying to straighten them, the tiny spot weld failed and the two pieces fell apart. To fix this I only have one welder and I was able to weld this pup really hard while fixing it. I also drilled additional holes in the top of the burner so there was an extra flame and the flame would…

Great camping stove, field tested

I was happy to find this one on the internet because I recognized it from the suitcase as the one my backpacking friend got years ago and still uses on our travels. I decided to get one. It's really light and comfortable. I've never had a problem with the lighting and it's a really simple design with not much that can go wrong. I've just used it on a trip across most of the country and it burns well and boils water quickly. It also seems very economical as my canisters seemed to last a very…

Not good, and I have several of these isobutane ovens

Uhhh yeah, not worth your time and money. There doesn't need to be QC on them and it seems like some people get a diamond, other people get a bad one and most people just turn it on once and try. My problem is that it overheats after about 2 minutes and then shuts off. Also, it was very unstable and clumsy to assemble. They are essential to the job of boiling water for safe drinking if you rely on them and trusting anything like that is my biggest mistake. The guys selling this certainly don't…

BROAD flame suitable for outdoor recreation

What's the worst thing about using a traditional canister camping light? Usually the flame pattern resembles a blowtorch - incandescent and focused in a tiny circle. While this works great if you're just trying to boil water, it's terrible for boiling or frying something in a pan. The wide flame shape is ideal for the chef's delicate culinary requirements. The adjustment range of the stove is also large enough that you can get real cooking in the field. This is quite difficult with most camping

Pros
  • Absolutely stunning!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Cook eggs and pancakes like at home

Beautiful full size camping pan oven. I rated it as light compared to a heavier range that can easily handle an 8-10 inch pan. This unit is very stable and the burner flame is similar to my Eureka double burner unit except this stove is tiny in comparison. as a small backpack but very practical for use in the car. Instead of a 1-inch backpack burner, you get a 4-inch flame that heats the entire pan evenly and provides excellent flame control. The weight can be 2 to 3 times more than burners…

Best Ultralight Burner Design

This burner takes up a little more space than some of the burners which are more stacked and have a more central flame. However, it's not much bigger or heavier. What I like compared to the smaller ones is that the flame is more like a regular burner on a stove, so using a saucepan is much better than just boiling water. My wife bought one of the smaller ones and we used each to cook up some stir fry steaks on a primitive camping trip. In comparison, the smaller one didn't hold the pan as well…

Great buy and easy fix if you get a leaky one.

I hooked up and tested this stove at home. The flame is excellent; wide and infinitely adjustable. I can make the best scrambled eggs with this thing. My stove gasped first. I smelled it and checked the overnight weight loss. 4 grams in about 10 hours. I was about to return it but decided to try silicone lube. I covered the top and bottom with a large rubber pad, hooked it back up and left it on all day. No weight loss in 12 hours and no smell of gas. If you don't have silicone lube, I bet any…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

yes it is that good

If you've convinced yourself that you are the elite and should be spending 3-4 times or more the cost of this oven, read no further. If you are looking for a very well made easy to fire kettle for frying eggs then this is it. I wanted this design because of its wide flame base. Smaller surface area on some others, boils water with no issues but creates a hotspot for boiling. It has wide pan flanges, making it very easy to cook food in a "regular" pan or skillet. I have fried eggs in an 8 inch…
