When working on a car I usually have to unlock the steering column and/or automatic transmission in neutral. Most vehicles require the ignition switch to be in the accessory position, which drains the battery. I use the power function for this. The charger can be placed anywhere under the hood. Automatic settings are good for charging batteries. I've been using it almost every day for 2 years and haven't had any problems with it.

I love this charger. I use it as a backup battery for a 200W 300Ah solar gel battery (4 x 75Ah batteries) and it works great.
