I like to use a cable needle when knitting cables, I tried a workaround without it, it was a disaster. They are light weight and not slippery which is what I need for smooth yarn. They help make cable knitting fun.

Knitting needles are easy to use. The thread is easier to thread on and off than with plastic needles. But the needles came off the cable while knitting, so my husband reattached it by pressing the ends of the needles to the cable.
