Watch your stuff.

I got this to deter thieves from stealing the suitcase I bought. Seems to be very sturdy and durable. One thing I ended up doing was putting a piece of tubing over the detachable side of the lock to eliminate all free play. It's loose enough to move around freely, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't noisy.

External Accessory Product Error

We used the pin according to the design of our hitch. On first use, the stylus sheared off when we were towing a small trailer on the freeway. This caused the hitch to slip out of the receiver and almost caused an accident in heavy Atlanta traffic. Of course we replaced it with another brand. If I could rate it under 1 star I would.

Locks My Hitch, Sorta

Too heavy. Brilliant. It has a detachable end with a lock. The problem is getting the locking end back after passing it through the holder. Trying to turn the key to lock it pushes the whole thing back through the holder hole. I'm still trying to figure out how easy it is to lock it. After locking, the keyhole is closed with a cover to protect it from dirt. Good idea. Hope that stands up to abuse on the street.

Came with a scratch, must also use a key to block the end of the rod

It is black, like the photo. came in a bubble wrap and in a box in one package. But it had a scratch on one end that was metal, so it's going to rust there. The lock on it should use a key to push the two ball bearings inside out to fit the groove. You CANNOT attach it to the pole, just stick it in and let it bounce through the grove like someone said the silver does. This one should use a key to lock and of course unlock it on the bar.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Have had the lock for 15 months, one winter

The new lock worked perfectly. I always covered the keyhole with a rubber cap to protect it from the elements. The key soon became difficult to put in the lock. I oiled it, it helped, but it's still difficult and I'm afraid I won't figure it out, which will be a big problem. The warranty is already 3 months, so it doesn't help. It didn't cost much so I guess you get what you pay for. Now I have to buy this again or find another one that is more powerful and durable.

Too short for my receiver

This hitch pin has a 2 3/4 inch rod length between the end caps, about 1/2 inch less than my receiver. The inside size of my receiver is typically 2x2 inches, but the outside size is around 3x3 due to the thick steel construction; this prevents the lock cover from snapping into place. Too bad, because the Cocoweb coupling lock looks really nice. I suggest that a potential buyer measure the outside dimensions of your hitch receiver before ordering! Edit 5/28/2017 I emailed Cocoweb to ask if they

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

The plastic protective cap doesn't fit well, doesn't close well. Did my best without using any tools. The lock had rusted through after a single Michigan winter. It took me about five minutes to saw it off with a saw. This will stop the lazy one who doesn't have a power tool or doesn't want to make noise. After all, which is good, I can't blame them. I wish the instructions were a little more assertive to let you know not to use this item in inclement weather. You should not leave this on theโ€ฆ

Heavy Duty Hitch Lock Pin

I've never bothered to get a hitch lock pin as all I had was the hitch and ball stolen from my pickup truck. However, I recently bought a trunk for my SUV and found that someone could steal the entire trunk just by pulling a standard needle. This means a much bigger investment. I researched the pins on offer and settled on the Cocoweb C-Lock Heavy Duty clutch pin. I have one in black. The finish is nice, it's solid, well made and has a cap to seal the locking mechanism from the elements. Theโ€ฆ

Fits 2" class IV receiver with 5/8" pin hole on Dodge Ram with about 3/8" extra space (see pics). I'm planning to do a small section of the rubber tubing to fill the gap. Generally, when closed, there is about 2-3/4" between the cap and the fixed end, so this is a suitable length for most Class IV pickup tubes. If you have one If you have a receiver that uses welded plates to attach the receiver tube to the tongue like some cheaper OEM and aftermarket couplers, then it may be too short for your
