Soft carbon steel for mechanical and hand tools

I think it's carbon steel and I think it's strong. No, not this one. The bits work and they made some holes. But they bend so easily! In fact, they came out of plastic with a slight bend. You can bend them back into shape with your hands. However if you are looking for a real dump without the potential for wallowing. maybe it's not the best buy. But if you're just looking for a hole in a thick material (wall) and don't care how perfectly round it is, then they'll get the job done.

Can they even cut paper?

I've used my fair share of attachments over the years and while not a journeyman by trade I've done my fair share of repairs/repairs at home. In all my years I've seen dull bread knives with more cutting potential than these bits. At slow speed, in softwood (hemlock), I shouldn't see the drill bit bend before it goes through the product. Probably a good deal for the money, but for the frustration and time spent waiting for the hole, I had time to watch three gallons of paint dry.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Out of style

Not exactly: Brad point drill

Drilling a piece of oak to make a tool holder for my T-handle hex and star wrenches. Ordinary small drills were too short. These bits are not straight. I rolled them out on a cast iron table saw and none of them came out straight. At least 1/8 inch from table top. Used a drill press and it wobbled so much it wasn't practical. I ended up drilling the holes with a standard bit and using this long bit to drill them to the correct depth. It worked fine. The smaller bits are quite flexible, theyโ€ฆ

only suitable for soft materials

Purchased for drilling Mountain Cedar TX center logs. (actually ash juniper, a hard, oily wood). These drills could not penetrate these "cedar" trunks, they just ground the trunk until it smoked. Used a fairly new heavy duty DeWalt 1/2" corded bit so power wasn't an issue. Tried the same bit on a piece of standard 2x4 pine and it drilled through with no problems. Went to the local Ace hardware store and shopped Pair of 8" DeWalt bits that did the trick and got me through the day. Bottom lineโ€ฆ

Pros
  • IMPROVED LENGTH AND TAIL 2 TYPES: 300mm extra long body provides better stability and balance during fast work to ensure position is maintained. The flute is 180mm long with ROUND and REDUCED shaft.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

These drill bits can work normally when drilling Styrofoam!

Like: The sharpness was good. Dislikes: Drill strength was inferior to others at a similar price. During the FIRST TIME USE, the bit encountered a rough/hard spot about 4" in a 5 1/2" diameter hole and rotated a full revolution before I could let go of the trigger. I used a Porter Cable 20 volt cordless drill and drilled southern yellow pine (unfinished). Very disappointed. I wasn't pressing (applying force or weight) on my drill. Many times I would pull the chisel out to clear the shavingsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Brad Point Design - Brad point design allows for quick penetration with a sharp point. This allows the user to pinpoint the drill mark. Better in CENTERING and WITHOUT DISCOUNT.
Cons
  • Doubtful

Medium quality, inexpensive

Received this morning, opened the package and found the following upon inspection. The tip, the cutting end, had burrs on the outside edges. There is significant shank runout on each bit. When comparing the resulting hole diameter of a 3/16 size drill to a higher quality drill, both the Comoware drill and the more expensive drill had a shank diameter of .1860 inch. However, the resulting hole diameter of the Comoware drill was 0.1900 inch, while the more expensive drill's diameter was 0.1860โ€ฆ

Pros
  • COMPLETE STANDARD SIZE SET: The drill bits we offer can machine 7 holes with different diameters (round shank | 1/8', 3/16', 1/4', 5/16 inch, 3/ 8 reduced shank | 7/16", 1/2" which perfectly meet your different needs.
