Either due to a hardware or software failure my computer stopped working with my current sound system (connected to the 3.5 output port). It was easy: plug into a free USB port, turn up the volume, turn off the (disturbing) LEDs, done. Worth the modest price.

Good product: I particularly appreciate the easy access to the volume control. The lighting feature is a fun bonus and can be turned on or off. Update Date: Communicating with NJSJ customer service was a great experience: the company is honest, helpful and understanding; and like Revane, it appears to be a model communications company.

This is exactly what I need. One of my laptops damaged the internal speakers and this is a great replacement. So far it works on Mac, PC and "some" Linux with no problems (so far). Sure, it's not a "party speaker" or "soundbar," but it's a good midrange (mids and highs are higher than most typical laptop speakers). Oh yeah, the light is cool (and you can turn it off). If your PC or laptop has poor performance, this is a good solution.

The setup couldn't be simpler. Just plug it into a USB port. Unfortunately, the end of the speaker is hardwired, so you can't replace the cable if it breaks. The sound quality is okay, but not convincing. I use it for my work computer to listen to tutorial videos and the like and it's more than up to the task. I was looking for a quality speaker that was solid, low profile, had its own volume control and didn't require a lot of cables, wires and connectors. This speaker has it all, and I particularly appreciate the volume control on the USB-only speaker, which was hard to find but really important to me. The sound is very good, it seems well made and I love how it clears up the clutter on my desk and around the cables. It's also just plug and play, which is great. First try: I have to say that this column has everything I was looking for. I was looking for a USB powered speaker system that I could take with me on the road to play on the go. This one fits me very well as it doesn't take up too much space on my desk or in my bag. With these speakers you don't need a power outlet and you can easily deliver power and sound through a single USB port, which is nice.
