Description of πŸ”Œ DROK DC 12V to 5V Buck Converter: Mini Voltage Regulator Board with Adjustable Volt Output and 3A Fixed Current - Power Supply Stabilizer Module

Parameter --- For DROK 5V volt step down regulator: Input voltage: DC 4.5-20V; Output voltage can be adjustable or fixed. Adjustable range: 1-16V; Fixed voltage: 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V; Output current: Max 3A (peak: 3A, long-term: within 2A); Power: 10W. Output Voltage Adjustable or Fixable --- The tiny buck converter board can be changed to adjustable output voltage or a fixed one. The reducer is default to be used for adjustable voltage output. If you want to get fixed voltage output, you need to cut off the Pad A by using a sharp thing such as a knife, then weld together the port of the fixed voltage you want. High Efficiency --- Big energy in small size. The conversion efficiency of this volt transformer can be up to 97% (typical value: >90% when step down 12V to 5V 2A). Protection and Enable Control --- The 12V buck converter is designed with output short circuit protection, but please do not keep short circuit for a long time. Also, the reducer is equipped with an integrated enable port which defaults the working mode that it will be off when it is at low electric level off, which bring a great convenience for users. NOTE --- This mini buck converter is really very tiny, much smaller than a 1-dollar coin, nearly a half of the coin.

Great Garage Transformer Solution

As someone who spends a lot of time tinkering in the garage, I can confidently say that this product has been a game changer. Based on my observations, this transformer stabilizer has greatly improved the efficiency of my tools and equipment. The adjustable feature is especially helpful for ensuring that my tools receive the appropriate power they need. The only downside I've noticed is that it may take some time to accurately find the perfect setting for your specific tools.

Pros
  • Increased tool efficiency
Cons
  • Finding the right setting may take some time

Controls Raspberry Pi 3 with ease

I use one of these to power my Raspberry Pi 3 from my 12v solar panel. It doesn't even get hot! I also connected four accessories to the USB ports on the Raspberry Pi.

Pros
  • Power Accessory
Cons
  • Expensive

UPDATE READ BELOW 3 failed

Update Now I had blown three of them and took out the ESP8266 it is connected to. It happened at both 5V and 3.3V. I am currently in the process of replacing the ones I have already installed/deployed. I made sure the instructions were followed. They worked for several hours before dying. They were only used to power the ESP8266. In the original review I used this to power some esp8266s from a 12v supply. I managed to stick it to the back of the esp8266 with double sided tape. I set them to…
