read the instructions very carefully.

Overall this product is well built and solid, but there is one small detail that I missed that I think should appeal to the company. In fact, I had to buy two of these because I ruined the first one. The thermostat cover shows a very simple circuit with a wire nut connecting the switch to the fan circuit. In a rush to get it working I just grabbed two wires from the box and connected them to the power supply. I took the wrong two and closed the switch, melting it. On closer inspection I seeโ€ฆ

Out with the bad air, with the good!

This fan has changed my air comfort a lot! I installed it in my eastern attic as shown in the instructions and hooked it up to a pre-installed box I installed in my kitchen while I was working. I used 1" thick foam sheeting to cut out the profile of the fan with a knife and fill in the exposed portion of the gable. Thus, the intake air comes mostly from the soffit vent. I set the fan to 95 degrees and it did after installation Works for 30 minutes.Note that the thermostat is NOT prewired so one

Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

I have already installed several of them. This is a cheap and simple attic fan in design and quality. Without a doubt, this really lowers the temperature in the house and keeps the second floor cool. Presumably the benefit extends to extending the life of your roofing material. I understand the various criticisms of the warped case and missing parts (you only get four nuts and bolts to attach the clip to the metal case, you do the rest yourself). My advice: Do not buy a used or returned fan. Iโ€ฆ

Good quality product but not perfect.

Sorry guys, no photo. I just installed it today. Good: Fairly affordable. Small enough to be relatively easy to install if you have the right tools and maybe someone else can help you. The thermostat is really good. But you need a screw. And maybe a mounting hole on both sides. The fan is pretty powerful. The engine is decent. Moderate noise. Cons: Mounting plates can be a bit thicker. It's ok, but it would be nice if it was a bit thicker. The edges are sharp, be careful. The fan got too closeโ€ฆ

Cool Attic Fan is Cool

Works as advertised. A fan is installed in the garage ceiling to force hot air out of the attic and up through the gable vents of the 1,500-square-foot apartment. ft. To do this, I simply flipped the L-shaped brackets to install on the opposite side of the intended one (opposite squares with notches). I had to drill four new holes and cut a groove for the aluminum shell so I could mount the fan flush to the 3/4" board. With the thermostat set to 105 degrees the fan lowers the attic temp byโ€ฆ

Works 7 years and counting

I bought this to ventilate the attic in my South Carolina home during the long hot summer. Along with the regular ceiling vent, I installed a gable vent on the other end of the attic and this exhaust fan on the opposite end. Not only do I use a thermostat, I plug it into a switch on the panel to the right of the bathroom. Under him. Our attic is the full size of our house with an area of 1800 square feet. feet and is 10 feet high at the center of the rooftop with a 3/4 plywood floor. Access toโ€ฆ

Works well but you also need to buy a power cord

I finally installed this tiny vent above my garage door. The hole wasn't that big, and the fan was much larger than the hole itself, with a T-shaped wooden pole covering the center. So about 50% are unlocked. It seems ok, it was a bit wobbly with only 2 brackets so I had to build 2 sidemounts out of flexible sheet metal and screw them to the edge of the 2 brackets so I could reach the wooden plank for support. . Now it doesn't rattle anymore. A few cons. Didn't know it didn't come with a powerโ€ฆ
