great for art journaling.

I ordered this sketchbook this size to get used to creating pictures this size. Several art competitions call for this size. I enjoy the paper, texture, and utility of a variety of media types. The wire and coating quality is very good. Each sheet is perforated for easy removal. Smooth texture, creamy side color, not bright white. The price is reasonable but not profitable. It is as advertised and of good quality. The instructions for use for this paper are correct. It is better not toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • These handy field journals feature a durable black double spiral binding with heavy black embossing on front and back.
Cons
  • I don't remember

natural, slightly jagged paper - also suitable for mixed media!

This is a very good sketchbook - it's a bit more "jagged" (rougher texture) than other albums of this size/format I have and I really like it. I also like natural colored paper rather than the washed out blue and white paper that many sketchbooks have. I've mostly tried colored pencil but I've also tried watercolor and gouache and they did a great job with them, surprisingly I wouldn't do it. I don't water-treat this paper, but I just painted a few strokes with Daniel Smith Moonglow and notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for field use, as the lid offers a secure stand; Also accepts multimedia projects
Cons
  • Not sure

This is a very good sketchbook - it's a bit more "jagged" (rougher texture) than other sketchbooks of this size/format I have and I really like it. I also like ecru paper rather than the faded blues and whites of many sketchbooks. I've mostly tried colored pencils but I've also tried watercolor and gouache and they did a great job with them, surprisingly I wouldn't do it.
