More stupid car installs

I don't understand why car and radio manufacturers are so slow and incompetent. Standardize this garbage. Nobody wants to deal with your proprietary cable system joke. There are 0 reasons for this: If the car has a steering system, put it in the car to work with other systems.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • So far so good

Easy install / no SWC

Easy install, pretty decent instructions. Steering wheel controls don't work. I followed the guide and checked my work. SWC doesn't work for me, which disappoints me. I have a BOSS Apple CarPlay stereo with a SWC output that looks like a 3.5mm jack. However, when I connect the SWC input of this harness to the Boss stereo, nothing happens.

  • Satisfied so far

Terrible Quality: Auto & Vehicle Electronics

Absolute bullshit. The three pins weren't even connected to the wires, they were just crimped onto the wire's plastic coating. I didn't know why it wasn't working until I checked the plug. Also, it doesn't have proper subwoofer/amplifier wiring for my 2005 Ford Expedition. This is overpriced junk. I reconfigured it and got a universal SWC Metra module which was cheaper and worked great.

Pros
  • Great Product
Cons
  • Everything OK

Shop elsewhere at Radio Wiring Harnesses

This came in packaging with one of the speaker wire connectors crimped incorrectly and the wire cut. I had to remove and repair the clamp. After proper installation and setting of DIP switches. The device will not work until the system has been powered on for a while, and the operation will be intermittent and slow even after it has started to work. Called Crux support and the service was very poor and they didn't help me with my problems. Full thumbs down for this product.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Works great, everything included!

The best wiring harness I have ever installed! Put this on my 06 F-150 King Ranch and it finally worked. I bought a used truck and the previous owner installed the smaller 5v pull down resistor harness incorrectly and missed the SWC (steering wheel control) unit. This kit comes with a properly set pull-down resistor so there is no more factory amp hitting when turned on. The buttons on the steering wheel are now working again. Couldn't be happier.

  • Pleased

Fits my Sony head unit and retained wheel controls.

This tourniquet is perfect. After carefully reading the instructions and even contacting CRUX support, I felt confident before installing. I am using a different head unit than the one listed in the instructions. When I contacted CRUX they advised me how to proceed. I still have the steering from my 2006 Expedition and the installation was very easy. The wiring harness has copper wires and a good and durable cable. I am very happy with this purchase and will turn to CRUX for all my future…

when you buy 12v to 6v speaker jumper wire

Every time I turned off the truck the subwoofer made a terrible feedback noise. After a few months the subwoofer started making ONLY this noise and no sound was produced. So. Weeks of troubleshooting led me to a small black shrink circuit that converts 12V to 6V. I unplugged the speaker wires from the circuit and connected them together. The subwoofer worked again and I had no more feedback noise when I parked the truck. moral of the story. I want my time back to have to fix this myself. I also

The main wiring harness was ok. Good quality plugs and wires

The main wiring harness was fine. Good quality plug and cable. About 3 weeks after the initial installation, the subwoofer adapter failed, causing the subwoofer to hum loudly. I received a replacement unit about a month ago and it's been working fine so far. Then yesterday the CAN bus decoder started to play. All buttons on the steering wheel are perceived as vol+. I am requesting a 3rd decoder replacement kit but if that fails I will request a refund and get a different brand. I'm tired of…
