High-quality gigabyte POE extender, without power supply.

GOOD:--------------* The build quality is excellent. 10.9 ounces, good weight for a small device. * All ports are gigabytes. * Each port can output a maximum of 30W, which is pretty normal. * Works up to 100m away from the main POE switch. * Please note that this is an extension cord. No power supply available. BAD: ------------ I can't think of anything right now. 5 Stars!

Pros
  • One Gigabit PoE input port: IEEE802.3bt/at/af compliant, supports up to 60W PoE input power.
Cons
  • Worries me

This is an expander. Without power supply

I misread the description when ordering. It's a power strip that you plug POE power into and it then distributes the love to other POE devices in your system. It's great when there are a few cameras around, but it doesn't work as a switch for other devices. I don't know how it's an amp (in the description) until it has its own power supply. My ONVIF cameras work fine with it. I can't tell what this does for my system other than distribute power to other cameras. It generally works, be careful…

Pros
  • 4-channel Gigabit PoE extender that easily extends PoE power to up to four PoE devices such as wireless access points, base stations, network cameras or other PoE devices via an external network data cable.
Cons
  • Not all fit

SIMPLICITY: Network Adapter

I never liked my TrendNet POE switch because the power supply was bigger than the switch itself and both would get warm, so I have wires with two electrical objects everywhere, heating everything around it. When I got this Cudy (I had no idea how the name was used or what it meant) it was ready to go. Just one convenient mounting kit (two brackets), no bulky power supply or software required. I just hooked up a POE cable to another switch, hooked up a security camera and that's it. All required

Pros
  • Extend an additional 100m for PoE networks. Daisy chain support allows you to connect up to 3 PoE extenders for full PoE+ network extension up to 400 m (1312 ft).
Cons
  • makes me angry
