It works, but it's quite expensive for this product quality

It works, but it's quite expensive for this product quality. They are mainly used in cooking and chocolate making. If you don't mind that it's expensive, it also looks and feels cheap, but in the end it works for me.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Big! Is working. But don't give up!

Works well as far as I can tell. However, for a Cuisinart product, it's not very durable. It feels light and brittle, and I don't know if it will survive a fall off the counter. In addition, the battery compartment on the handle was opened several times. Buy it for casual, light use like me. Need something more permanent? You can look around.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Some flaws

Every kitchen needs a non-contact thermometer!

I hear/read people complaining about trying to take the temperature of stainless steel pots. What you want to measure is your oil temperature. If you have butter/butter in the pan, this accurately measures the surface temperature of the butter/butter. You cannot use it to read the temperature of an empty stainless steel pan. For physicists, this is the emissivity. If you are a chef/cook: it doesn't matter.

Decepcionte esperaba mas de Cuisinart

Do not take!

Inaccurate temperature measurements! :(

I was *SO* *VERY* disappointed with this thermometer and really wish it would work. When it's cold out I've usually had good luck with the Cuisinart and bought it because I trusted the brand. I tried several measurements over the course of a few days The first day it arrived it was pretty cold so I ignored the 5 degree difference to all my other device temps and the 107 degree temp it said that I had (forehead) <shrug> I thought he might have to get used to the temperature at home No, the

Poor quality product

This is a very poor quality product that looks like a cheap children's toy and I didn't expect that from other Cuisinart products. Like a child's toy, it stopped working the first time I used it. The display started throwing various messages like ERR (Error?), -OL (?) and then a temperature reading of 122F no matter what it was pointing to. The battery was checked normally, the replacement did not work. My son has an Etekcity which is half the price of the Cuisinart and is much more solidly…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Only available in white

What I received had a few issues with it: 1) the laser just won't turn on and 2) a battery compartment that doubles because part of the handle doesn't close properly no matter how hard I squeeze it or how hard I try to push the battery and cables in. The thermometer seems incredibly cheap and obviously not made under proper quality control. I'm sure I could return it for a working unit, but for $12 it's not worth the hassle of repackaging and shipping. Spend a little more money and get…

To be accurate at low temperatures I usually have luck with Cuisinart and have it Bought because I bought it I trusted the brand I tried several readings over the course of a few days It was quite cold on the first day so I ignored the 5 degree difference with all my other temp gauges and the 107 degree temp, which he said I had (on my forehead) Days 2 and 3 weren't much better If there was a way to calibrate it…
