Well done. - Tow and winch accessories

This trailer ball is well made and should look like it as it is made entirely of stainless steel. I bought it primarily to replace a rusty rear bumper trailer ball and was pleasantly surprised with the workmanship.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Updates available

Excellent Quality and Appearance

Excellent Quality and Appearance. This isn't your usual steel ball that starts to rust after a few uses. Not this one. After several months of heavy use, it still looks new and will NOT rust.

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Sparse Instructions

Drop the rusty hitch!

I mounted this ball on an old stainless steel stay I had from my previous car. This ball is of very high quality with high resilience. I've been using it for a few months now and it's still in fantastic condition and absolutely rust free. Rusty bullets are the worst. Choose one and enjoy.

Plain steel, not stainless

I've spent some time looking for a good deal on all the stainless steel parts for my hitch. Stumbled across this ball hitch and decided to buy it. Yes, stainless steel ball, but they send ordinary steel nut and spring nut, now I need to spend some more money to get stainless steel nut and spring nut. So now you know.

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Made in China for towing products and winches

Stainless steel trailer ball; My guess is that the washer and nut aren't stainless steel since they're a different color/finish. Another reviewer stated that you don't want stainless steel on top of stainless steel because the "attrition" can cause two identical materials (especially stainless steel) to fuse or "cold weld" when brought together under pressure . I gave the product a 4 because it was made in China, which I always deduct a point for (unfair, right?).

  • Excellent overall performance
Cons

a bit pricey for Revain.

Revain is about $10 more expensive than the online trailer store but shipping is faster with Prime Great hitch ball and won't rust but the washer and nut aren't stainless steel so they end up rusting. I sprayed the washer and nut with clear coat after installing the hitch. This should slow down the corrosion. I don't know why the washer and nut aren't stainless steel; Cost reduction I think. I don't know of any practical reason why a stainless steel nut can't fit on a stainless steel bolt.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good quality nut. fits mounting hardware

Good quality ball and stem but cheaper quality nut or at least not stainless steel. You can see the difference in the metal of the ball and stem versus the nut and washer. Problem? No not at all. Maybe it will freeze in a few years but I still don't take mine off. Next time I'll probably want to feel it in my hands before I buy it. It would be nice if they called "stainless" that all parts are actually "stainless". I would buy it again if the price was a little cheaper.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Nothing here

Good quality, nice finish

I've been using one of these for several years; it looks almost new, but I can't tell if it's really seen that much water (I usually remove the ball mount if I don't use it for a long time). I just got another one to pair with another ball mount. As at least one other reviewer has noted, the actual finish is much more polished than the manufacturer's photos would suggest. In fact, it looks very similar to the last polished aluminum ball mount (Brophy EA20) I installed it with. Made in China.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Upgrades

A great ball that resists corrosion better than most!

This has been on my Curt Ball Mount for several years and it is still in great condition. Although I don't tow much I bought this when I lived on the coast seeing what salt air/water/sand does in a short amount of time with a standard ball. Although not stainless steel, the nut and lock washer still look good. I have no issues with the zinc plated nut/lockwasher due to the galling issues mentioned, plus that's not the part of the ball that should be stainless steel. The fact is, no coating on a
