Simplified home theater streaming with wired connection

A simple but effective device for multiple Ethernet connection ports. I connected this switch to my TP-Link AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender with Gigabit Ethernet (RE210) port, which is plugged into an outlet near my home theater. I need wired connections for the following: HDTV, Blu-ray player, Roku 3, Apple TV, Android Box Media Player, TiVo Roamio OTA and gaming system. With this switch, I was able to give all those devices a wired internet connection and add a faster and more stable…

Pros
  • Secure and store-and-forward switching
Cons
  • Cables shorter than other options

I reach back to plug it in and look…

Pros
  • 10Gbps switch fabric
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Sub 100Mbps ports with Cat6 cabling and 1Gbps internet

I had to move my modem to my home office because I was at my new job worked from home. All my computers used to work without a wireless connection at speeds from 300 Mbps to 700 Mbps. The modem only has one 1Gb port so I ordered it because I figured all three could get 500-800Mbps with this switch and I could stop switching cables every day after I got the left work. That didn't happen. I hooked up this switch and tried all three computers and none of them exceeded 80Mbps. I have all brand new…

Pros
  • Affordable gigabit solution for home/SOHO
Cons
  • I don't remember
