Good but more for downhill

Haven't ridden them yet and plan to return them for knee pads. They're a little bulky and don't look like they'll pedal comfortably. They are more suitable for downhill than for all-mountain. I ordered a medium based on the size chart. The thigh felt good but the calf area was loose around my calf. Other than that, a very cool and durable rubber, you just want something more flexible.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • I'll write later

Uncomfortable and Poor Quality

A seam on each pad is poorly finished and is a sign of poor workmanship that can also show up in other ways. One so bad, so hard, and big enough to burrow into the inner thigh, causing great discomfort. Also, the fabric is so wrinkled under the knee that it becomes uncomfortable when pedaling. I couldn't take my knee pads off fast enough after a 15 mile ride. A good feature was that the pillow was comfortable and stayed in place from start to finish.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Problem

Not for all-mountain or enduro

They look great, the materials are high quality and the company stands behind their product. That's where the positives end. They don't fit properly and when you sweat the silicone dots become slippery. These aren't lightweight pads either. They're bulky and tough, but don't offer adequate protection. I fell straight onto my knee and it is clear that this pad is just foam as it only prevented the knee from being cut but did not affect impact. I would not recommend these pads. Silver Liningโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not the best

They fit and have the right properties.

. As in dozens of pairs. Unfortunately, I often find myself between sizes, which is another way of saying the sizes don't fit. However, with these new Dakine Slayer pads I'm right in the middle of the plus size on their chart and it matches actual fit. Also good: Comfortable materials but looks well made (only two rides and two washes so far). so let's see). The padding on the knee side is minimal but much better than the padding on the sleeve only. The upper Velcro allows for an adjustable fit

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers.
Cons
  • Good but not great

Very comfortable knee pads

These are my third knee pads; First there was Kali Azure which was great but too big, then I tried POC's VPDs and absolutely hated when they landed behind my knee. I have walked this path. It was a choice between the new G-Form Rugged and these. I like them a little better and I've heard that the hitting technique is very good. I haven't had any major accidents, but I've driven it 100 miles. They are very comfortable and pedal friendly. Thanks to the silicone inside and the loop, they don'tโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Cheap stitching and no response from support in 2 months

In less than a dozen rides and only after rinsing instead of washing, the stitching holding the sticky dots started to unravel. I opened a warranty case on May 1st and received no response. I would not recommend buying Dakine products due to the total lack of customer support. Update: After almost 3 months of waiting I finally got a response from the company and I was offered a full refund. They offered good protection, although the seams are failing. So if you have a spare set when they fallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

It will be great for the right person.

I had to return them a few minutes after receiving them. I had a really bad view of my thigh which kept digging into my thigh. I have disproportionate hips and calves so the largest size fitted my calf well, but the upper was too tight and I knew it would tear after a few rides. I would recommend if you are on the limit of a certain size you should go up. The rest of the cushion is nice and secure, and the adjustment strap can tighten any slack. I chose the Air POC vpd and they fit perfectlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
