Description of DANIEL SMITH 284610057 Watercolors Moonglow

DANIEL SMITH, is the Innovative Manufacturer of Beautiful Watercolors for Artists Worldwide, now offers a smaller, 5ml tube in 88 of their most popular colors, including some of their PrimaTek watercolors. DANIEL SMITH makes the largest range of watercolors of any manufacturer, more than 240 colors are available in the original 15ml tubes. The 240+ color collection includes the exciting PrimaTek watercolors made from minerals (like Amethyst) plus other unique colors (like Moonglow) not available elsewhere, and Luminescent Watercolors which allow artists to capture the luminescent colors that exist in nature that regular watercolors cannot capture!. Water frees this amazing three-pigment blend to perform miracles. Watch and wait as Anthraquinoid Red floats, Ultramarine Blue settles and Viridian grays the resulting violet color. Selectively blot and lift a surface wash to expose delicate blue-greens. A description of the fascinating light and dark washes can never match a personal experience! Use Moonglow in shadows and as a silhouette pigment and enjoy its reaction to salt application in background washes. Its neutral tinting property makes it effective with almost all the DANIEL SMITH watercolors. Try introducing the Luminescent Interference pigments to areas of wet, damp or dry Moonglow. Look to Undersea Green as a companion pigment. And try a Moonglow sky and long shadows on sunset snow scenes. Excellent Lightfastness, Transparent, Granulating, Low staining. PG 18, PB 29, PR 177. Conforms to ASTM D4236.

Cobalt Purple Best in Paint

I like Daniel Smith's watercolors, but I'm not sure about this cobalt purple. The consistency is very similar to children's finger paint. It does not bloom easily in water if you mix it with it. The interaction with water is a bit different and makes me think it's not easy to use.

Daniel Smith is one of my favorite watercolor brands! Neapolitan Yellow is a soft, warm yellow reminiscent of wheat or sunflowers. This shade definitely makes me think of summer. Neapolitan Yellow has excellent lightfastness, is translucent and does not stain or granulate watercolors. These tubes are very good value for money and the pigments are highly concentrated. I use them to fill pots and once set they always wet easily. Daniel Smith offers some unusual and unique pigments, notably the…

Be careful when opening

Daniel Smith is a beautiful and vibrant watercolor and I like to paint with it. But almost every time I open the tube, the color erupts like a volcano. Now it's clear that the paint is never wasted as it can be placed in a pot or empty tank and used again and again until it's gone. I just don't want to keep trying to save the color as soon as I open the lid. I should try to catch it once I take the top off and I'm ready to paint somewhere. I don't know why the color comes out like that, but it…

Absolutely beautiful on their own and great for mixing

I am a freelance artist and over the years I have collected and used many brands of watercolor paints, reviewed and compared them and for many years my favorite watercolor paints have been M. Graham & Co. Watercolor paints. I've always avoided Daniel Smith because the price is really high, but with all the money I've ever spent on every other brand I own, I could put together a really good collection of Daniel Smith paints if I could know how good they are. they really were. I currently have 6…

Best Brand in the US if not the World

Daniel Smith is the best. Made in America and of the highest quality. Incredible mineral pigments primarily from the USA. They cost more because they are the highest quality PIGMENTS, not dyes (which fade, work poorly, and shine poorly) so this is what you get if you or someone you know is serious about art. They go well with other colors, create great shadows, warm up or cool down the color. I'm just thrilled and very proud of this company. Asian watercolors are for Eastern "papers" and…
