I have been using Supreme filters for over 35 years. They are well built and designed. This is a great purchase. Worth a lot more than what you pay for. The filter assembly is solid, so you may need extra time to assemble it. The only downside is the removable plug on top of the intake pipe which allows air to enter the pump and makes noise. Unfortunately it makes such a loud rumble because it filters so well. If I get an answer on how to calm this down I will update my review. UPDATE: I heard from Danner how to quiet the rattle. I haven't had time yet. However, the noise level has improved. HOB filters drive me nuts because you have to check them every day to make sure the water is flowing. Several things can stop the flow. After watching the instruction videos I thought this filter was worth buying. I was great for water changes with its direct tank to bucket system. The built-in wafer vacuum system wasn't that good. The nozzle collected dirt well, but only large particles remained in the "trap”. The fine sludge was returned directly to the tank.
