Works as described, fits docking and mooring equipment

Fits slightly snugly on large cables but will hold its position once installed. Had this for a month and had no problems with very high winds on the lake.

Pros
  • Boating and Sailing
Cons
  • Legacy model

I always need more!

They have so many uses! I use 8 on the dampers and a handful in the saloon and cockpit. It's very nice to have a strong anchor that you can hook onto any fishing line.

Pros
  • Docking and Anchoring Equipment
Cons
  • Contact Seller

Don't make my mistake. Just buy them.

I hesitated to buy them when I bought a pair of hooks to moor my 33ft sailboat. Following the instructions on the shock box, I tied the recommended knots to attach to my mooring lines. A few days later we had a strong storm that destroyed White Rock Pier just a few miles away. The shocks did their job well, but my docking rope knots got so tight I almost had to cut one of them. After damaging a dock line and swearing a lot, I took two pairs of them. They work great and make damper adjustmentsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sports and outdoor activities
Cons
  • I will be silent

Double Braided Line Tips

I used these because I thought they would make installing Davis Instruments SHOCKLES LINESNUBBER Black 20" easier. Yes the installation was easier but the line gripper kept slipping on the double 3/4' foot braided line. I tightened them as instructed and even after many tries on multiple spring lines they keep slipping. I'm now going to tie my docking lines directly to the damper and toss those not very exciting items out of the shaft and the boat is 40 ft and 20k+ lb. They may work better forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dock Lines and Rope
Cons
  • No Automatic

Very strong item to have on board

Very useful and much stronger than I expected. I use it when boating. One day to quickly lengthen the spring cable to secure my 1984 340 Sea Ray which weighs about 13,000 pounds to the wall in high winds when 6 other boats of the same size were rafting from us. I never thought it would last, but it did. A strong wind tried to push us into other boats next to us. After extending the spring to another spike with a line grab for a quick connection, it kept our boats from rocking and lasted 6 hours

Pros
  • Sport
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
