Not Worth the Trouble

Automotive belts can be a pain, and this one certainly lived up to that reputation. According to my experience, it was difficult to install and didn't last very long. The pros? I guess it worked, but not for very long. The cons outweigh any potential benefits. I wouldn't recommend taking a chance on this one.

Pros
  • High-quality materials for long-lasting durability
Cons
  • May require professional installation for proper tensioning

Perfect fit for 2007 Mazda 3 i Touring Sedan (2.0L 4cyl)

Perfect fit for Mazda. The installation tool is very useful and recommended. The tool doesn't actually allow you to remove the strap. Anyway this belt fits and is a great replacement for the stock belt which has done over 170,000km with the ribbed belt so I replaced it. You cannot replace the spool without replacing this belt. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Faulty

Belt Dayco E050265: Quality is good, don't forget the installer tool

Bought this belt to replace the AC compressor drive belt on my Mazda 3 2.3L. The A/C compressor belt must be removed to replace the poly V-belt and it is a tensioner belt designed to be pulled over the crankshaft pulley using a special tool. Not all auto parts stores have a tool (Advance has one) which is a pin that hangs over the edge of the crank pulley and allows you to place the belt on the crank pulley by turning the crank with a wrench. An example of such a tool is the Gates 91030…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Nothing here
