As with many others, the mechanism broke in less than half a season. The manufacturer refused my warranty claim despite the advertised one year warranty, but luckily Revain handled it as usual. Don't waste your money on DB Elektro and spend it on a better product.

The starter is original and takes 15 minutes to replace if you know what to do. Mine lasted 4 months, then the gear broke into 4 pieces. Very disappointing. The tractor must have been started 30 times. Since the warranty return cost is half that of a new one, I just swap out the gear on the old starter.

I used to buy several DB starters without any problems. Not quite sure what happened here. The gearbox broke on the second day. Replaced gear and now a week later the bendix is loose which is causing the gear not to engage properly. With that being said, I would buy a different DB starter, yes I would. A quick fix and all I'll have is a shop starter for engine dyno testing.

I engaged the starter and it ran without problems until about the 10th start. Transmission broken into 3 pieces. I removed the old gear from my old starter and put it on the new starter as the problem I had with the old starter wasn't the gear. The gear on the starter is steel with a plastic insert. The OEM gearbox is all metal, no plastic. I would change gears even before I installed the new starter. The rest works fine.

Good price for a beginner. I have used db electric on a number of starters and alternators. There were no problems when a guarantee was needed. When the alternator failed they called and sent them the old one, when it worked they sent me a new one. I highly recommend DB Electric. They very often cost less than 1/4 the cost of original parts, especially when it comes to eco-friendly diesel.

Got a stock offer here and thought the 15 or so I paid made it worth it. I'm glad I did, within 30 minutes of receiving the package with the starter it was installed and I had a big smile on my face. The battery, which I thought was rubbish, barely cranked it to spin as fast as I mowed with it. I mean she really has power now, she feels like a new mower now. Your mower spins slowly, that battery you just bought is a good or bad starter, this starter eliminated all of those problems for me.
