Worked great for a short time

Bought this part for a boat motor and worked fine until the piston cap came loose inside the part. I was able to fix the part but it failed again.

So far, so good. for starters and alternators

First I would like to say that I buy a lot from DB Elektro. They have always been my choice for starters and alternators. Although the quality could probably be a bit better, for the price it serves its purpose and works well.

Not impressed. for spare parts

Mine brewed after 2 different uses. Luckily I was on dry land trying to run it on the hose, my OEM solenoid was actually pretty good and I didn't throw it away. Wouldn't buy this product again. No savings are made on the boat starter solenoid.

Inexpensive replacement

Used this magnet to replace a tired 235 hp. Evinrude V6, (hard work). While this works well, the included nuts were cheap zinc plated steel rather than brass or stainless steel, the lock washers poorly fitting steel. I used the original equipment from the OEM solenoid.

Counterfeit Navy Substitute! This is not an OEM equivalent. UFG!

This part is nowhere near OMC specs. The starter bolts are short and the signal bolts are not stainless steel. In addition, the base plate is made of carbon-coated steel. The OEM is made of non-conductive plastic and is held in place by corrosion-resistant rivets. If you do decide to buy a car magnet I would buy it elsewhere for a lot less money. I believe it was used in old Ford Mustangs and other cars. The last thing you want to fail in your boat is the engine in your boat. I would suggest…
