surprisingly it works well, took it to work, put it in my company, untied a fiber broom and went for 8 hours, all went well. I will buy more. At this price I can afford to break them, trash and ?!.

Works, but you get what you pay for. It worked fine for a few welds, but after about an hour it narrowed the view to about 1 inch or less and became unusable when welding. Wouldn't buy again.

This lens is perfect for my work. I don't sweat all the time, but when I take the hood off the lens is there for me. I keep spares just in case, but I've only had to change them a couple of times over the last few years because I broke them due to carelessness on everything, which costs me more than you pay for them.

I bought this just to check. It's garbage. If it had an EN397 rating it would be 1/3/3/3. The lens is of such poor quality that if you are using it for welding and are NOT someone who welds every day to get food on the table you will impede your ability to learn if you do so. Three welds made and thrown in the trash. Stick with the cheap Tradesman ADC you want for under $100.

I read the reviews on this and despite some negative reviews I went for it. Well I'm happy to say that this job is amazing now it's instantly responsive as I'm more of a backyard welder than a full time job making hundreds a day so they're good for my needs if anyone claims it is a professional welder and spends money on an inexpensive item, one wonders if they are full of them. I'm sure they have quality automatic lenses, so ditch Rock's with your heavy wallet and buy one.

As for the lens, it works great. Instant dimming, never had an issue with arcing and the delay is long enough not to be too bright but not so long as to get in the way. Here's a big old problem, gentlemen. Battery life. This thing instantly dies for you if you can't keep it in direct sunlight, charging up every moment you're not using it.
