Dell UltraSharp 2208WFP Wide Screen Widescreen Display, 2208Wfp Review

I didn't buy from Revain, I bought from Zones. Bought eight of these for a small doctor's office. They should be used with a 90 degree clockwise orientation for better viewing of long X-ray images. Big mistake. In the vertical position, the narrow field of view is much worse and they were deemed unusable. Even in the normal position of the screen, the difference from top to bottom is noticeable. After all, there is an exchange for 3 years.

It's not HD, just 1680x1050, not 1920x1200 like modern monitors, and the vertical viewing angle is pretty narrow, but the colors look good, they're clear and bright, no bad pixels, except that the red colors are bright are - orange. It's also fairly thin and light. The mount makes it easy to raise, lower and tilt the screen, so the limited vertical viewing angle isn't a big deal, but you can see the pixels if you look closely. Luckily, you don't have to touch the 22-inch display.

The negative points made about this (and other Dell monitors) may be valid, but my experience with some of them shows that it works well for most normal purposes. It seems that Mr. V. Res' review is for a completely different monitor than mine. I bought this monitor as a second monitor for reading documents and surfing the web, and the other monitor (2408wfp) is for editing pictures and movies. This monitor has a terrible viewing angle, even when looking at dead center the top portion shifts a bit. I don't know exactly what all the people with bad reviews did wrong or what caused all the problems described. I have had three of these sets since 2009 and they have all performed flawlessly, with perfect displays and no sign of any viewing angle issues as described. Crisp and perfect colors for websites, videos and films. Sure there are better displays these days (2015), but for a monitor built in medieval times it's surprisingly reliable with a great display, all three.

Again, I have to disagree with Mr. Res. While the Dell 2208WFP isn't a bad monitor, it's actually not a very good one. As some of you may know, almost all 22 inch TFT monitors are TN panels. I've cycled through a variety of monitors at work. With two screens you can always see how different they can be in quality. I will admit that I have this monitor as my only monitor at home and my usage is pretty average (internet, word, excel, a few simple games etc) but this monitor has had no issues since day one, unlike the various commercial monitors I had at work.

My third monitor. My first two only lasted a year but this one is six months old and is working great. Very satisfied, especially for the price.
