That's the deal. for pedals

I am an elderly man who has recently returned to cycling after a 40 year hiatus. Man, I'm a little wary of "locking up" and learning how to get off the pedals in an emergency. I think that's what you really need to learn. Great! Easy to install - they work as you would expect - they fit snugly onto the pedal as you move up and down. When you want to get off, you just take your foot off the pedal - a perfectly natural movement - none of that "I have to rotate my foot to get off before I fall."…

very wide not very big opening compared to "regular " clips

Not sure what they were when I ordered them. But I won't order anymore. They are much wider than a regular clip. However, they do not open "up" like a regular clip would. As a result, the shoes I use (men's 9) are very narrow and since the opening isn't that high, this requires some effort compared to my other clip-on earrings. Each clamp with nuts and bolts weighs 1.7 ounces versus 1.1 ounces for my old clamps. In summary, they are heavier, wider (not required) and less tall (height required)…

Good alternative to platform or clipless pedals

I don't like using platform pedals without being able to fix my foot and I don't always want to wear cycling shoes to use contactless pedals. I put a pair of these on one of my bikes just to sit down and ride with my grandkids. I've only driven about 100 km with it so far, but I'm very happy with it. They have enough room for my size 13 shoes and I can put my foot in so that the ball of my foot is over the pedal axle. Just note that they may not fit every pedal. Some pedals, especially plastic…

Sturdy, light and well suited for large feet

They are sturdy, durable and easy to use. I have size 13 (US) shoes and they fit perfectly. I have to assume that someone with feet under 10 or 11 would find them too big. If they are too big for you, your foot is too far forward. They come with a metal plate with raised rivets that you can add to keep the shoe more secure inside. The plastic is thick, hard and durable. I paired them with some vintage 80's style metal pedals on my old steel frame road bike. It's easy to hit the pedal with the…

Simple basic design, but .

If you have the standard pedals they should be easy to install and work well. There were no mounting screws, so I had to make small plates to fit behind the posts separating the surfaces of my pedals - no big deal. However, the optimal position of your chuck on the pedal is so that the ball of your foot is directly over the pedal axle. With these devices, this can vary greatly depending on foot/shoe size. I wear men's shoes in size 8.5, so my foot would be too far forward even with normal…

Great product, super durable and works as advertised.

I'm not a crazy cyclist, but I ride about 100 miles a week. I noticed my feet kept slipping when shifting gears, hitting bumps, etc. I wanted something cheap and light to keep my feet on the pedals. These brackets worked great. I've read other reviews that they don't fit and has something to do with a small steel plate not fitting. Not sure if they would fit but looked at my pedals and it looked like the two small holes must be pretty close to the clip mounting holes. I ordered them hoping for…

Thin clips, strong, uncomfortable foot position

I bought them for my daily commute to work. I can't say they improved my ride much. I think these clips are too deep. By this I mean that if I place my foot so that my toe touches the front of these clamps, I will find that my foot is slightly further on the pedal than I would naturally place it. Usually, you want the balls of your feet to be over the axle of the pedal. I wear size 10.5 men's shoes and I imagine it would be a bigger problem if my foot was a little smaller. It's a bit better if…
