They work as long as they last

This is the best way to protect your wrists. I always wear them. The big downside is that the two sides are held together with a rubber band that's attached to the rigid sides with a thin suture of thread. The snow will eat it up in a season. At this point they lose their functionality and must be discarded. So, great protection, but be prepared to buy new ones every season.

Excellent wrist guards

I use these wrist guards when I ride a unicycle. They take a little longer to put on over my winter gloves but they are worth it. I discovered this after falling off my unicycle while trying to avoid debris on my way. I hit hard, badly scratching the wrist guard. The good news was that my wrists were spared serious injuries. I would highly recommend these wrist guards.

Is there anything better? Probably no!

I'm a tall guy (6ft 3in, 275#), I've already broken both wrists and one is still broken, so good wrist support was just as important as hand glides. The second time I put them on while riding my Onewheel XR, I fell onto the pavement at 18 mph HARD. I don't bend my wrists backwards. After that, I damaged the fabric at the very top of the palm, but that didn't affect its use in any way. Highly recommended for my fellow sailors!

Pros
  • Excellent fit for me

Definitely not recommended!

A useless attempt to monetize a trauma surgeon's splint (what a joke)! The fit is poor at best and does not fit and may not accommodate all of the various hand/wrist/forearm anatomical combinations. This is a bulky tire that doesn't fit well with ski/snowboard gloves (even with larger gloves (bigger) to allow for extra room). Obviously due to the design you cannot and should not wear it over ski/snowboard gloves/mittens and it defeats the purpose of hoop/protection. The extra part of the palm…

Already paid

I recently bought a OneWheel +XR; After riding it at almost 20mph I realized I might need more than a simple wrist guard for impact and ordered them urgently. So far in the last week I've eaten about 3 times so badly and 2 times so fast that I didn't have time to think before hitting my face on the sidewalk. Rather than snapping or badly stretching my wrists, I only have a few scratches on the detachable hard panels and I'm no tiny squeaky whistle. Even if I just want to wear my lightweight…

I don't feel left out. I just received them today, they feel strong.

01/23/2020I haven't fallen yet so haven't really checked yet. I broke my wrist in August 2019 while wearing Protec branded wrist guards. . . I wear them every time I ride my unicycle. I can wear gloves under these geese. I can hold a cup of coffee with these guards. I find them comfortable. The bottom plastic doesn't protrude as much as the Triple-8 and Protec wristguards, so I don't think I'm protected from a broken wrist any better than wearing Protec branded wristguards. I think I was…
