After reading online that these masonry drill bits can drill through hardened steel I decided to give it a try as it is quite cheap. It definitely worked! I bought 2 of these drills to drill 4 holes in brick. Each required hole was 1.6 inches deep. I used a competitor's chisel and was able to drill the first 3 holes with great difficulty using a large slow drill. Then this chisel was useless. (Made in China of course). Came from someone with very hard concrete floors in the apartment that fits. I tried some cheaper bits (at the local hardware store) and in a couple of holes I must have hit either rebar or infill because they just couldn't get past until they burned out.
