Good improvement over the old design

This is a good improvement over the old design. The light appears brighter and has a more even output, making things look more natural. The loop at the top of the tether also makes it more convenient as it eliminates the need to pull the headband very tight to keep the lamp in place. I also like separate power and brightness switches. I don't want or need eight different flicker or color modes that I have to toggle every time like some other pesky lights do.

Quality Headlamp: Headlamps

The Dewalt Jobsite Touch headlamp works best for me. I'm an industrial electrician and I use it a lot, it stays on my helmet easily like other headlamps. No ties or clips required, anti-slip straps work well too. It's not a heavy and bulky light like some other lights I've had (with big battery packs on the back) that cost three times as much. The brightness of the lamp is also more than I need and sometimes it can be very dark when working in the basement. The helmet also survived several…

Great for its simplicity.

I like this lamp. I appreciate things that just work the way they should. It's designed to work and be helmet mounted, and it does a good job of meeting those needs. There are no excesses in this world. It has a power button and a rotary dial for two settings, low and high, which is good for me as I don't like hitting the power button to switch all the lights to the cheaper options. It uses AAA batteries, which is good because they're readily available. However, this light is noticeable when…

Good headlamp at a great price

Works very well and not so bright that it's too bright and glaring. My only concern is that there must be some sort of padding under the light as it feels a bit stiff and hard on the forehead. The controls are simple and seem to work, although the purpose of the slow blinking escapes me. Useful for what I do with it, what odd jobs are as a hobby, and tuning guitars when I need to take accurate measurements and have a headlamp illuminate my instruments. Having bought several more expensive…

A bright spot in the DeWalt line

Recommended. I've only used them 10 times so far but no problems to report. Easy to use. He's keeping up with me. The strap may be a little uncomfortable after wearing it for a few hours. You can use a disposable or washable forehead bandage. I haven't seen any headlights with this feature, so it's not at a disadvantage in that regard. I use a rag, then everything is ok. If the flashlight had a little more adjustment range that would be good, not that it's bad, just maybe it could be a little…

Comfortable and effective

Although some other reviewers say this headband is not at all comfortable to wear on the forehead, I find it the most comfortable. After wearing it outside at night I came back and was watching TV when my wife started laughing because it was still on my head and I didn't even realize it was still there. Batteries stay strong for 14 days even after 1am. I like the switch on the right side of the device and it's easy to toggle on and off as the switch is a big round dial. The light swivels down…

Steady light, but motion detection is impractical.

I use this flashlight for work, it is very durable. It works great with rechargeable batteries. I have problems using batteries with other headlamps. The battery life is really good. I use this light every day and the battery usually lasts 3 days. The luminous flux is quite low. motion detection bites. When I'm working in the panel, it picks up my hand movements and keeps turning on and off. Even movements like putting glasses on your face turn it off. The only time it was really useful was…

Used to be a good flashlight. 😣

Sometimes a portable flashlight is just meant to be a headlamp. A new designer walks in and the first thing that comes to mind is "People want more features”. No, that is not so. You should be able to touch control any flashlight, portable or not. If you try to control this flashlight by touch, you can start blinking in morse code for an SOS signal. I know some DeWalt designer pats himself on the back and brags about his "improvements". This model is not an improvement. If you think a…

I didn't like this light

I didn't like this lamp for the first 6-7 months. It doesn't have a wide spectrum of light, so I would use a different light (LED). Having used a few other (LED) bulbs I seem to keep coming back to this DeWalt. The point is that this flashlight is solid (but heavy) and well built. I've been using this light for about 2 years on commercial demolition work, mostly at night on the 3rd shift. Although the light spectrum is smaller than other light sources, this light is more direct. Due to the…

Very bright - not very cozy.

Pros:* Very, very bright. I don't have a light meter, but the light output is very bright and far superior to the cheap spotlights it replaces. It's on par with a quality handheld torch and I've got over 100 lumens of light output no doubt. Instead of moving your head to direct the light, work. * Uses standard (AAA) batteries, not fancy LR cells which cost a few dollars each. You can even use rechargeable batteries.* The strap is non-slip so it won't slip or fall off.* It's yellow, which is…
