This is a good improvement over the old design. The light appears brighter and has a more even output, making things look more natural. The loop at the top of the tether also makes it more convenient as it eliminates the need to pull the headband very tight to keep the lamp in place. I also like separate power and brightness switches. I don't want or need eight different flicker or color modes that I have to toggle every time like some other pesky lights do.

The Dewalt Jobsite Touch headlamp works best for me. I'm an industrial electrician and I use it a lot, it stays on my helmet easily like other headlamps. Recommended. I've only used them 10 times so far but no problems to report. Easy to use. He's keeping up with me. The strap may be a little uncomfortable after wearing it for a few hours.
