The reels are strong and well made. According to the description they are ideal for wooden floors, but I would not recommend them for this application. The wheels are hard plastic and while they are smooth and well made, I find that other softer materials should be used on hard wood. Unfortunately, the wood recommendation was the reason I chose these wheels over others, but I will not be using them on my floors.

These were purchased to replace the manufacturer's casters which were too small causing them to get stuck and tip over every time we tried to move the table (lap computer type table/chair). The original casters had a rather nasty plastic smell so I was concerned about replacing them with a different set of casters that would stink or get stuck on the carpet. I used them to replace the rollers on the sewing machine table that broke from furniture movers. They were a perfect replacement in size and stronger than the original. I replaced the entire set of rollers to make sure everything fit, but it was probably possible to just replace the broken ones.
