It folds up to avoid gap problems

My radio now works better than any other antenna I've used. I mounted it quite high and being able to fold it up helps a lot. I hope the spring holder of the antenna will last a long time.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • This makes me angry

pristine and beautiful for AV portable

This antenna even works with a SO239 to SMA female adapter plugged directly into the Baofeng. gives me a stable signal even if I don't have perfect ground. works great for my mobile rig or my DMR HT with other required hardware. I have used this on a tailgate bracket on my toyota tacoma and also on an mfj lip bracket.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent antenna. However

Excellent antenna. After a year, however, it became too caustic to fold. I'm not happy with this as the main reason I bought it was that it folds up so I can go into garages without taking it off. If, like me, you live in a salt belt condition, I recommend lubricating the folding mechanism regularly. .

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Great match right out of the box!

The unit was replaced with a slightly longer antenna which was blown off the roof twice, this was good and stable with no problems although it had a Diamond NR770HB dual band antenna which is slightly shorter but almost fits 1.1:1 right out of the box for 144 (which I use way more than 440)

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Perfectly matched, holds tight

I assembled the antenna and installed it on my car as soon as it arrived. I pushed the element all the way in (brought it to the bottom) and when I put it on the SWR meter at 146.52 the meter barely moved with my radio set at 50 watts. I often check whether the adjusting screws are still tight. and so far they haven't retreated even a little. I definitely recommend this antenna.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Brilliant reliability as always

I've had several diamond antennas over the years. HT, simple and mobile. All were good reliable antennas. Antennas are like speakers. You may have the best stereo system, but the speakers make the system. You can have a top radio line. But that's only as good as the feed line and antenna. Mine in frigid conditions, hunt for branches, gather firewood and the like. I can't be wrong Ham City is also fast delivery. Arrived in good condition.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • It worries me

Works well on CB radios and scanners

Works well for an antenna of this length. Like the other one I have (62" Super Gainer), with a bit of trepidation (expected), I can easily get into one of my repeaters that I use regularly through the Sacramento Valley (East Side of the Valley Foothills <> Bay Area ) arrived had no problems receiving/transmitting. I installed it about halfway down/bottom of the tailgate of one of my SUVs. Works pretty well compared to several other antennas I have that are the same length/height. I use…

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Periodicity

Works great and has helped increase my transmission ability.

I am very satisfied with this antenna! I didn't manage to get into the local repeater (I could hear but not transmit) which is about 11 miles away in a straight line, but I'm fully armed now. I'm running it on a 5 watt portable, so there's an obvious win. With this antenna (transmit) I was able to reach him at a distance of about 15 miles. This antenna folds up by lifting it up from its pedestal near the base and simply flipping it down. I can recommend this antenna.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • only available in black

Great antenna, with one caveat

Like: no ground required, 1.1:1 to 144 out of the box. Continuous. He survived a collision with a tree branch at 40 miles per hour. knocked over the magmount. I'm not sure which section he fell into, but he survived. ends. The fold is for occasional/light use only. Not something you want to do every day when you put your car in the garage.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • The list goes on.
