5 star rating for a defective product? Continue reading.!

I have bought several of these units so I know they are very, very good and worth every penny! This particular one stopped working after just one use so I contacted the seller to exchange it. I sent an email with photos and a full explanation of the situation. A few days passed and then a few more. Nothing. Not a word. I then sent the same email to the actual device manufacturer and within 10 minutes received a really good response, a pre-paid return label and a tracking number for the…

Not sure what the problem is.

For some reason it's low. On brew day the tilt might read 1.044 when my hydrometer (actually two hydrometers) reads 1.050. Towards the end of fermentation it shows somewhere between 1.002 and maybe 1.005, which is probably 0.006 lower than Hydros. Frustrated, I calibrated it after just one use. For $139 I hope I don't have to tell Tilt what gravity is. it should tell me! Also, the sizing process is brutal and my wife wants to know what happened to all the sugar. However, the calibration process

Love it! Bought a second one!

I love these things! It's like finally having a baby monitor for your newborn. I only had one, but once I started fermenting two batches at once, I just couldn't handle it. With my old hydrometer I felt like I was in the Stone Age. Not to mention the precious beer you spend testing. Setup isn't obvious and the included manual is pretty much useless. But with a little Google and YouTube you'll be up and running in 5-10 minutes. No, it does not connect to your internet for automatic updates. It…

Where has all my brewing life been?

This thing is SUPER cool! First of all, I would like to say that the slope may differ slightly from the real one (by 1 or 2 up or down), but that doesn't bother me. The REAL benefit of this thing is knowing when your fermentation is complete! You can recognize this by the "flat line" effect that you get at the end of the fermentation (see picture). This way I know exactly when it will be ready. To those who are worried about connecting to a device, I say: don't worry! An old cell phone was…

Continuous, hygienic fermentation data

Advantages: Easy detection of start and end of fermentation without sampling. Almost continuous information. The Google Sheet hosted site is already set up and easy to use. Cons: Requires a dedicated smart device in "always-on" mode for continuous readings. Bluetooth range is very short - the smart device needs to be almost inside the fermenter to take readings. - Point calibration for accurate readings. Gravity readings are triggered by the starting field, Krausen, fermenter walls, CO2 rising,

Great hydrometer/thermometer, an FYI registration

I really like this hydrometer/thermometer. This has already helped me find the correct water addition after boiling my home made beer and I love that I can toss it in the fermenter and easily check it from my phone in their app. It's nifty, and there are plenty of third-party programs that can track your fermentation over time and help incorporate it into your brew recipes. They are also starting to work with professional brewers and have some cool toys on their website if you really want to…
