Nice panels but cables are very thin

Connection cables are very thin, probably even less than 18 AWG (unmarked). Also arrived with two holes in the box - should have been better packaged. To their credit, the panels appeared to produce over 90 watts in full sun and still functioned in partial shade.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Compatibility

Beautifully designed solar panels produce rated power.

The panels have a nice canvas case, the panels put out 98.7 watts out of the box and when connected and aligned I'm sure it's over 100 watts. I observed 5.9 amps at 16.7 volts. The charge controller is easy to use. The company was very honest and responsive when I had a warranty issue. This company stands behind their products.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • There are nuances

Almost lit a fire!

Do not buy this product! Not once, but twice this brand went bankrupt! The first time I thought it was my fault. The second tooth confirmed that it was the product. My van almost caught fire! NOT SURE. I think the company needs a redesign. Make the wires larger to handle possible 12-18 volts, which should be the maximum. I think the wires are too small or something. There must be a reason he did it twice.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Very happy with solar and wind power

I don't know anything about solar panels but I did some research. I bought this so I didn't have to run a generator to run the DC fridge/freezer I bought for a week's fishing. This panel worked great keeping two 125Ah deep cycle batteries charged in limited sunlight. We actually had almost no sun for 3 days and at the end of the day the batteries dropped to 10.5 volts, on the fourth day we had sun all day and at the end of the day the batteries were at 13.5 volts even with references connected.

  • Alright!

This is a good buy for the price

This is a good buy for the price. However, there are 2 things I would change. First, I would place the controller closer to the battery and the extra wire between the controller and the solar panel. For the best charge you want the controller to measure the battery voltage as accurately as possible and with 16ft of 16 gauge wire in bright sunshine with about 5 amps going into the battery there is almost a voltage drop between the between the controller and the battery, falsely indicating that…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Expandable

Very easy to install

Just returned from a 7 day camp and horseback riding trip. I bought this unit, arrived the day before the trip. I took it out of the box and put it in my pocket. Very easy to install. Keeps the battery charged +++. Day 5 A violent unexpected storm hit with strong winds in excess of 80 km/h and rain, ripping off loose D-rings and pushing the solar array forward about 1.50 m. Made a big crack in the panel and scratches on the front. The controller also slipped in the mud. I was frustrated because

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Let me start by saying that I had no intention of using the charge controller supplied, I already had a good controller which was saved from upgrading to another implementation that I was planning to use . But this kit was cheaper than similar panels offered without a controller and I figured I could use the included controller for other implementations. In any case, the controller smoked when I first plugged it in to test it and seemed to lose some functionality, but still charged the battery.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Only available in black

My panel was either defective or completely overpriced. BUT NEW BEAUTIFUL!

Bought this panel to replace a 44 watt Kyocera for charging batteries in my RV. I used Kyocera and a 10A car charger to test and compare the power output of this panel when charging batteries in my RV. All were started using the same scheme via a wired controller in a mobile home. The charger put out around 7A, but this panel didn't put out more than a 44-watt Kyocera, around 32 watts in full sun. I further tested this panel, exposing only one side to the sun at a time, and found that one side…
